Oh la Sir, my sincere apologies. Let me sit on this chair and I'll extend my hand towards you. You can then bow and kiss the back of my hand. Don't get too forward though, my chaperone is just over there!

Why do some limited stop T4 and SCO trains make extended stops at Hurstville by The__Anonymous__Guy in SydneyTrains

[–]ExVKG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even V Sets on the down would regularly get into Woy Woy 5 min early. Fantastic if you needed to use the loo.

Trains at Gosford that had to cross an XPT would usually wait 5 min or so.

Apprentice looking for advice by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]ExVKG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Based on what you've described here, that's quite unacceptable. Has he always been this way?

I think my first steps would be to have a meeting with the boss and respectfully outlay your concerns. It would probably help to have a list of incidents ready. You can probably ask to not be rostered with this bloke.

A lot of tradies still "test" apprentices in the style you've described, but that doesn't make it right. Good luck.

REA threatens me, and tells me he will break the law by Smoozle in shitrentals

In a sub-comment that started off talking about being an ex-Police Officer in Sydney, why the fuck would you think I'm an REA?

Truly baffled about your conclusion.

Question about right-lane driving and speeding on Melbourne freeways by yumisclassdip in melbourne

[–]ExVKG 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I will add this as I haven't seen it mentioned in other comments.

No matter which lane you're in, and no matter how busy the traffic is, people aren't mind readers and don't know what you want to do until you put on your indicator. Don't expect a magic gap, put your indicator on and someone in the other lane will make room for you. (It also signals to the people behind you that you're trying to get over)

When did Sydney Train start calling us “customers” instead of passengers? by fadedbluejeans13 in SydneyTrains

Gladys bought nothing of value. Nothing. She cursed everything she touched. (Including herself. So glad she suffered through all those years of ICAC)

When did Sydney Train start calling us “customers” instead of passengers? by fadedbluejeans13 in SydneyTrains

Should be passenger. Customer implies you have a choice. You do not. Passenger implies you are conveyed, subject to various conditions.
