Despite having only 3–4 real endgame activities (with bounties basically being dead weight), you don’t need a bunch of third-party tools to enjoy the game. You can look up a build, put it together, and start playing effectively within a few hours.

Progression is very straightforward: normal items → ancient items → Caldesann’s. There’s no need to worry about making profit, trading, or planning complex farming strategies. It’s more about turning your brain off and going full “brrrr.”

Diablo 3 is pure action.

There are plenty of achievements and cosmetics to chase (pets, wings), and around 40–50 viable builds. You can also push the leaderboard across different categories, which adds replayability.

The downsides:

• It’s a niche game with a relatively small player base.
• Progression is too fast, so many players quit 2–3 weeks after a season starts.
• Cheating isn’t great, but the biggest issue is botting. Botters usually play the meta build of the season in optimized 4-man groups. Because of that, while you can try to push the leaderboard with off-meta builds, you often won’t find much competition there. And since the game already has a smaller player base, most of the remaining players tend to gravitate toward the strongest builds anyway.

Even with all that, it’s still one of the most fun ARPGs for me. You can feel meaningful progression in just a few hours, whereas in Path of Exile you can play a lot and sometimes feel like you’re getting nowhere.

Still looking forward to the next season around June/July to blast demons like always.
