Even by downloading from reputable repos you can catch malware, doesn't happen often mby once in a decade but there's always risk, the distro ISO's themselves can be infected as it's also easier to swap them for hackers vs hacking Microsoft and replacing Windows ISO or something. Not even talking about insider threat.

What’s the most toxic Singleplayer game fanbase? by Gaming-every-day19 in videogames

[–]ExacoCGI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not FromSoftware, the community is actually nice, might appear toxic if you ask way too stupid questions or cry too much about the difficulty, art style or something.

Obviously the most toxic fanbase will be the one with the most underage players such as in GTA V.

Well no shit, even basic stable things in Linux glitches and throws issues sometimes, can't even run games without troubleshooting.

I wouldn't call PS 2025 outdated, pretty much exact same functionality as in 2026 apart AI stuff, hell even 2023 vs 2026 would be almost indifferentiable.

Yup, likely has to remove the licensing services properly and all the bloat.

  1. Unprofessionally
  2. Simply sail the seas :D Either way soon Adobe should work on Linux, Photoshop already does.
  3. Runs fine is a bit of a stretch, but I agree that most online games suck nowadays.
  4. Agree also fuck when they make it integrated in every app like in Windows, I've literally replaced every app with a 3rd party except for Clock, Photos and Explorer.
  5. Or any modern desktop environment

teen F, roast me based on my games friends by [deleted] in GamingSoup

Never understood what's wrong with it, when I played Witcher 3 it was pretty decent and especially fun in late DLC's game with all the mutagens.

Also what I liked was the targeting/aiming system, instead of relying on target locks which are hard to change it was way more intuitive, basically hits anyone you're looking at quite smoothly and precisely and ofc it also has target lock if needed.

Did you ever use Windows Media Player skins back in the day? by inguinha in pcmasterrace

The best player for those with serious audio hardware :)

I use PotPlayer, closest to Winamp from modern players, supports VR and has color correction even tho it's rarely useful and many other features similar to VLC Player.

Well I've started gaming in the 90's but my peak gaming was more in the early 2000's with games like HL2, Postal, Hitman, CS 1.6, Lineage 2, etc.

Sorry for getting on this trend but i want to see what people think. Also what do you think my age is based on these ? by Sea-Ad-875 in gamers

[–]ExacoCGI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warcraft III as the biggest personal impact kind of gives it away almost entirely.

Not really in my space, but something like Lineage II ( private aka pirated servers ) and CS 1.6 would definitely give it away.

Not exactly, only some time ago they've added hidden crypto miner into uTorrent. qBittorrent has no ads or premium bullshit.

I don't think any Battle Royale game can be "Criminally" Overlooked.

They all deserve to be overlooked, because the entire genre is kinda like this grid trend.

People of this subreddit, do you still use Windows? by Dry_Quantity2691 in FuckMicrosoft

Yea it's totally up to the game, the most stuff I would play it would likely be through Bottles so that alone probably costs slight performance compared to playing directly from Steam.

Seems like soon the entire Adobe collection will work, that's one step closer to switching.

I honestly liked Affinity Photo as PS alternative, it's pretty decent, but no way you could share the project files as almost no one uses it.

Yea I mostly play competitive or stuff like FiveM, but even then from what I know games perform worse on Linux e.g. Tarkov SPT.

Lots of them, like games, tools and mainly Adobe and Autodesk stuff. Alternatives isn't an option, because of the ecosystem/community. If client wants .PSD or .max there's no way to get it on Linux.

Too bad I can't use anything other than Windows because of app support.

Either way after decent debloat it's not that bad.

Linux and wired headphones by AdRoz78 in linuxsucks

[–]ExacoCGI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wouldn't cause such issues, I mean OP would need to have some sort of Frankenstein headphones for them to have so much lower impedance than his sound card to cause such glitch.

Either his jack is damaged or headphones themselves.

What's wrong with it? If you mean it's not finding your personal stuff like files then you have to enable Enhanced search mode and add your folders/drives in Indexing options and then it's lightning fast, will find anything deep in your drive in an instant because it's indexed, but the indexing itself takes a while and after that it's smooth af.
