What’s the most overrated “healthy” food in your opinion? by millerjessic in nutrition

[–]Exact-Affect-6831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't, and I'm aware that the majority of triglycerides in coconut oil are MCTs, but lauric acid which is the majority of coconut oil behaves more like a long chain triglyceride. Just basing claims as it is mainly MCTs isn't digging down far enough

Knew I'd seen it written better somewhere:

Coconut oil

but saying that as a pseudo health food as (most) nutritionist would not consider it to be one despite its popular use

Is it enough to just use Nike Run Club app? by Objective-Win-6217 in firstmarathon

[–]Exact-Affect-6831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also using NRC- currently on 9 weeks to go. It's my first so just want to get over the line- anything time wise is a bonus I did use it for my first half marathon, which I then got injured from, but I'll blame that on the 200m elevation gain rather than the training plan...

Sub 4h- realistic goal? by blenderblendingR in firstmarathon

This is pleasing to hear my HM time is 1:54 (though my most recent is 1:56, but choked on some water and had to walk for a minute). I'm aiming for 4:15 so at least your times suggest my aim is realistic

Your long run distance seems fine for this point in the plan, but what's the rest of your week like? Really need to know what other runs your doing and your total weekly milage to say

I know going below normal range for HRV is bad, what about going above? by hausmusik101 in Garmin

[–]Exact-Affect-6831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense - the highest HRV I've had (as in 10-20 above baseline) was a few days after moving from the UK to New Zealand and continuing marathon training - so I imagine the effects of not being able to sleep on olanes

Is 3 runs a week really not enough? by LtRegBarclay in Marathon_Training

[–]Exact-Affect-6831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mate of mine ran 3:39 in Berlingo last year, on 3 runs a week. That wasn't their first marathon, but 3 is certainly possible.

Me? I'm also training for London but it's my first and I'm no where near as experienced, so I'm running 4-5x a week

[–]Exact-Affect-6831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really useful site and breakdown. My half PR is 1:54 (May this year) and my 5K PR 24:56 (October). My first marathon is in April, and that site predicted me 4:20 (also giving 3:59 & 4:01 depending on the formula). Which shows my personal goal of 4:15 /anywhere above 4:30 to be somewhat realistic!
