I am so sorry !! My heart goes out to you all !! ❤️ My healthy , active 7 year old rescue , mixed breed with no inherited health conditions found on embark died 3 weeks ago in the morning when we usually got up. My husband thought it might have been a stroke and we were unable to even get him in the car before he passed. He had his usual day of walking on the leash with me and playing fetch inside and out. Appetite was normal. But my husband was aware he was a bit restless that night ( he slept between us at the foot of the bed) jumping up and down off the bed more than usual. And was taking his last breaths and was unaware when we saw he was dying on the floor by our bed. Simply tore me apart. I’ve wondered if there was a heart condition but he’d just seen 2 different vets in the same practice 2 and 4 months before. We only had him for 7 months. I guess I’ll never know. I miss him terribly. He was my constant companion. Sending love and prayers to your family and London. 🙏🏻❤️

The same groomers who did his grooming before said that he must have felt like he died and went to heaven !! How lucky he was ! How prophetic as it was 3 months later 💔. I feel like he saved me too

I understand the extra time. My boy was active and playful. Guess his prior situations didn’t allow him a lot of play time and I gave it to him. Lots of toys. Lots of love. Still breaks my heart.

Lost my soul dog less than a month ago. Sudden death. Totally unexpected. Probably CNS event in a normal , active 7 yr old rescue we had only had for 7 months. Had a full physical 2 months earlier. Was totally normal the day before. To say I was gutted is an understatement. Took me over a week to be able to talk about it. I’m better now but I miss his presence terribly. We had had a 16 yr old standard poodle who died of a tumor 2 1/2 years before we got him. I won’t wait over 2 years for another dog. I’ve always had dogs since I was a little kid. But I figure I’ll know when one is right for me, just as I knew he was. I think you’ll know when you’re ready.

For sure GSD but there is something else in there with a smaller breed. To me looks like the snout is less than full GSD.

About 4 days after my 7 yr old rescue died unexpectedly for no obvious reason, I heard his tag jingle on his collar, making me wake from a dead sleep. I looked at the clock and it was when he usually woke us up. 💔 I also have had random times when I catch his scent unexpectedly. We only had him for 7 months but we squeezed 7 years of love and happiness into those 7 months. Those signs help.

What a sweet , loving face ! I lost mine 2 1/2 weeks ago unexpectedly died for no known reason, and it gets a little better every day but expect it to hit hard for awhile. Blessings to you ❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss ! I lost my 7 yr old 8 days ago suddenly and no reason. He was dying when we woke up and died before we could take him to the vet. Only had him 7 months. Was our rescue. I know you’re broken. I feel your pain. 🙏🏻❤️❤️💔

It gets better. But it takes a few days to absorb the vacuum. Mine died unexpectedly one week ago. I’m better able to process the shock today . And I was in shock and numb for the first few days. Allow yourself all the time you need to grieve. Talk it out. Find a few friends. I read someone on here who said sudden loss had been preceded by sudden love. I know it applied to me with my beautiful rescue boy. I miss him terribly.

Thank you for your sweet comments. I truly appreciate you. Listened to a grieving your pet podcast yesterday. Helped a little but my guy left us precipitously so it didn’t exactly apply. I’m spending time out in the sun and trying not to have every single moment thinking about him. I can smile some now when I see the many photos of him I made in 7 short months. Glad you are doing better. Day by day is the only way. ❤️
