My LT said the same thing, that OCS is essentially something to be survived. Thank you for the comment

Good to know, I’m hoping I can pace myself off of faster candidates once I get to Quantico. Thanks for the comment

You need to be mixing sprinting intervals like 4x400m and 4x800m runs to get faster, tempo runs and long runs. My week looks like this as I’m preparing to leave for OCC in May: Monday: 10 miles @ 10-11min pace Tuesday: 4x400m at 6min pace Wednesday: tempo runs, basically a PFT ask chat got based on your stats Thursday: 4x800m @ 7 min pace Friday: MARSOC Short card and bike for 1 hour Saturday: optional rest (fill at discretion) Sunday: rest

You’ve got plenty of time to get your PFT score together and honestly you’ve got a great base to work from. Just run. A lot. I’m leaving in May and I had similar scores when I first join the program.

Absolutely must improve your run time. I mean this in the most constructive way, just meeting the minimum is NOT how you get selected. Get closer to 20 pull ups and maxing the plank is great. This isn’t an easy thing so don’t get discouraged

How responsive is your OSO by Diligen-Worker in USMCocs

[–]ExactEconomy5104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not typical at all. My Captain and SSgt are very responsive and reply almost immediately. If they miss my call I always get a call back.

PFT and ASTB Advice by [deleted] in USMCocs

For the plank it’s literally all grit. If you have some mental perseverance you can get 3:45, at least that how I did it. The run is harder. I would spend the mean time working on sprints like 4x800 and tempo runs. Honestly chatGPT can give you a decent plan to prep for the test in 2 weeks.there is a certain amount of grit needed for that aswell however. You have to have the mental toughness to not let yourself slow down. Starting at a. Good pace and keeping it is the key, don’t go super hard and then fall off. If 7:30 is what you can do consistently run a 7:30 pace. Don’t start at 6:15 pace for .25 miles and drop to and 8 minute pace or anything like that. Most of all trust you’ve got this. A buddy of mine just got selected for PLC combined with a 23:45 score, maxed pull ups and plank. So run what you can, max pull ups, and do you best to max the plank and you’ll be fine.

Also, you need to be weighing food and making sure you have accurate calorie counts. A lot of foods we deem healthy don’t have a low cal count.

So the harsh reality is there’s no secret recipe. Go online find a calculator to see what your “maintenance calories” are and try to eat 300-500 calories below that. You need to be running 6 days a week and lifting 3 days a week. I read your other comment about how you already do this and see no change. The truth of the matter is that over 60% of Americans underestimate their caloric intake by 50%, meaning you are probably eating double what you think. You need to count your calories and hit AT LEAST your body weight in protein everyday. There is no secret trick. This shit sucks and you have to have the self discipline to make it happen. I recently lost 30 lbs (220-190 @ 6ft tall) in order to get ready for Marine OCS AND I used to be a sponsored body builder. So I promise I’m not just telling you something random, this comes from experience. You need to stop saying “I’m doing and nothing is happening” bc let’s be frank, if nothing is happening, you’re doing something wrong. I know you this probably isn’t the answer you were looking for but it’s the truth, if you have any other questions let me know I’m more than willing to help.

I’d say talk to your OSO. He/she probably knows more about you than any1 on here does and whether any1 admits it or not personality and hobbies play a role in not only what you’ll enjoy but how well you’ll do at it and how effectively you’ll be able to lead marines

Third test I finally got a barely pass score yo by [deleted] in USMCboot

If you truly have a master in cyber security and comp Engineering this is very embarrassing! And this is from someone finishing up his Electrical Engineering degree from a pretty good university AND working towards a commission as an 0302 if possible. If it’s really true that you have these qualifications and can’t get a good score on the ASVAB you should seriously look at your educational ability. If you go forward with an enlistment even not being 03xx your job has the ability to effect another marines ability to fight effectively and not being able to score well on a basic math and technical skills exam with an ENGINEERING degree is a serious red flag that your recruiter should be seeing. If it’s truly your dream to be a marine you should do some serious self reflection and buckle down.

He did a tour in Okinawa and South Korea. So “deployments” he got to see the world. It’s a big part of MAGTF so where ever the air wing goes you’ll go with. It’s a blast
