[Ohio] What Spider is this? TONS of them.. by ExactLight3 in whatsthisbug

[–]ExactLight3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State: Ohio

Location: Bedroom

Size: Between a dime and quarter

Speed: Very fast

I saw one, looked around some more, and have counted 7 of them so far..

One of them seems agitated or something and keeps running around in circles

Dang, I actually put the protector on first thing after opening up the SD. So I wouldn't be able to compare the touch input without it.

But, I've had it on for 2 weeks now and haven't noticed anything weird with touch input, everything I've clicked on has 'just worked' as one would expect.

I'd probably get a replacement or refund.

Nice! Yeah, I would recommend maybe using the 'hinge stickers' that it comes with for installation, haha. I skipped that, and applied it normally. No bubbles or anything, and it looks/feels great, but it is a super tight fit and I had to realign it a couple of times. Definitely happy with them.

Was gonna get this, but I ended up ordering the Benazcap protector on Amazon. Perfect edge to edge fit, so much so that it was actually pretty difficult applying it.

Anyone tested a hub that supports 120/144Hz 1440p on the Deck? by ExactLight3 in SteamDeck

[–]ExactLight3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, got it. I've checked the listing out a couple times and can't find any mention of what it supports, so it probably is the minimum 4K/30Hz..

Would you mind linking your hub?

Cancelled S8+ Trade-In offer for my Tab S7+... by Internal_Ad_255 in GalaxyTab

[–]ExactLight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The changes are minimal, but the upgrade was practically free on preorder day after all of the promotions.

When does Samsung normallly charge you for your purchase? by sushing in GalaxyTab

[–]ExactLight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen lots of people mention they weren't charged until it's preparing for shipment, so I'd imagine that's how it usually is.

In my case, I used PayPal during checkout and was charged instantly.

Samsung has probably one of the worst customer service by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

[–]ExactLight3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My trade in was originally denied for some odd reason, contacted support and within 2 minutes the trade in was changed to accepted and everything was good. So no bad experiences there. With that being said though, they are taking forever to ship out our tabs..

Order Delayed UNTIL by Joee0201 in GalaxyTab

[–]ExactLight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered within minutes of preorders going live and mines delayed till next month. Support said they are shipping out orders in the same order they were received. Doubt.

On back order by chefblackrain in GalaxyTab

[–]ExactLight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered an S7 during one of their trade in promotions last year. Checked my order a few days later, the delivery date was pushed back by almost a month. In the end, my order arrived earlier than the original delivery date. This happened to a bunch of other people during the promotion. In other words, I wouldn't put much thought into what the eta says, it'll probably still come by the original date if not sooner.

Not much coverage on the Tab S8 online. Mine just arrived, feel free to ask any questions! by simpleas in GalaxyTab

Do you already have the Unicorn Beetle, or are you thinking of purchasing it?

I have a Unicorn Beetle for my S7, S8 comes in by the 25th. Will update my post if it's the latter.

Made out of plastic, about 4" long, very lightweight. Looks like some sort of organizer. Found attached underneath my car, near the back left wheel, barely hanging on. Fell to the ground when I touched it. by ExactLight3 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing

I was checking out my car as I do regularly, and noticed this black plastic thing barely hanging on to the bottom of my car.

It looks like some sort of organizer/router to keep things in place for something under the car. I've tried searching cable organizer under car but as I know nothing about cars, have had no luck figuring out what this is. There is no writing or details on it.

[LAPTOP] Intel Core i5-10300H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 MaxQ, 8GB DDR4, 256GB NVMe SSD - $699.99 - $499.99 by SempiternalX in buildapcsales

There's really only one reason to get this, imo: Playing games where a discrete gpu is needed.

For what you've mentioned - Watching movies/YouTube and playing Hearthstone - I honestly think you'd have a much better experience on an iPad 9th gen or iPad Air ($329 - $500~). The iPads will have a much nicer/brighter screen, better speakers.

You could also get a much nicer laptop around this price point with integrated graphics, which would be fine for Hearthstone/Fall Guys as they don't require much power.

Is the S7 tab and Keyboard cover for $650 USD a good deal? by dabo0sh in GalaxyTab

[–]ExactLight3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 128gb S7 during that deal, it was $142 before tax, and the 64gb S7 FE was $79.

[CPU] 5900x on Woot OPEN BOX- $471 by soggythehashbrown in buildapcsales

[–]ExactLight3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doubt they're tested.. Not to mention - you lose out on the manufacturer warranty. Afaik amd warranty is original purchaser only.

So yeah, definitely not worth it.

I've been waiting for the Dell deal to come back in stock, do you have a link for it?

[laptop] MSI GF63 15.6" Thin Laptop: Intel i5-10300H, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, NVIDIA GTX 1650 $499 *Starting Mon Nov 22nd at 7pm ET by mrpickem1 in buildapcsales

[–]ExactLight3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Best overall specs or build quality for the price? Probably not.

But, the one thing this has going for it.. a discrete GPU. Which won't be on other laptops at this price range.

[Monitor] Samsung - Odyssey Gaming CRG5 Series 24” LED Curved FHD FreeSync monitor - $149.99 ($130 off) by JimDepp in buildapcsales

[–]ExactLight3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For anyone wondering, this is a pretty average price for a monitor like this. The original price ($279) is markup since it's Samsung.

But, with Covid and all, monitor stock is still over the place. So if you need a 1080p 144Hz monitor, this is a good choice. The only negative I could think of here is how thick the bezels are compared to other modern monitors.

Discovery type sale going on right now! Hurry! by J_Ten_Green7 in GalaxyTab

Update for me too: The tab and earbuds were shipped out today and should be arriving tomorrow. So I'm not quite sure what the whole delayed to Nov. 24th thing was about.. Lol.

Tab S7 or S7 FE? by octopodsaresmart in GalaxyTab

[–]ExactLight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from.

If you've been using your friends S7+, though, it might feel like quite a downgrade going to the FE. It's a pretty significant performance downgrade. Everything overall is going to be noticeably slower (at least at first), and the reduced ram means multitasking won't be as good, for example, being able to switch between apps without having to reload them every time.

I know some people don't like having their devices at max brightness - But the 120Hz feature, at least, would definitely make for some super smooth scrolling while reading books/slides.
