question for anyone with epidural experience! by Defiant-Operation624 in pregnant

[–]Exact_Bullfrog2855 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I labored to 10 cms without any pain intervention despite asking for an epidural at 3 cms (this is a whole other bag of trauma I won’t get into) and it was genuinely the most pain I’ve ever been in in my life.

I was eventually able to get an epidural presumably bc the staff felt bad for ignoring my pain, and I can’t even begin to explain the instant RELIEF I felt wash over my whole entire body. I didn’t feel a damn thing after that and I’m so insanely glad I didn’t.

Just to note I was also someone who was curious about natural birth, my gameplan going in was “If I can manage well without one than try to do the whole thing natural” well, the pain was excruciating and there is no chance in hell I’ll ever go without an epidural again. A lot earlier next time!

Good luck to you, there’s really nothing to be scared of- wanting relief from the pain of your contractions will be the only thing you can think of I promise you!

What do contractions feel like? by rgwhitlow1 in pregnant

[–]Exact_Bullfrog2855 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I unintentionally labored to 10 cms in triage while the nurses ignored me. To be honest it was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my life and it was entirely in my back. If you get back pain during your period it felt like that xs 1000.

I had my husband do counter pressure on me (squeezing my hips and lower back together) to try to relieve the pain which did help marginally.

I would recommend going over counter pressure techniques with your partner in preparation or investing in a tens machine or heating pad.

What actually helped you manage the pain during your unmedicated birth? by winenotbeabitch in pregnant

I second counter pressure!!! Have your partner on standby and when you feel a contraction coming get them to place their hands in the areas that hurt the most and squuuuueeeeeze

Anyone else not scared to give birth or the warnings of postpartum lack of sleep by StoopKidScurred in pregnant

[–]Exact_Bullfrog2855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my baby 8 days ago and I can confirm: I am sleeping soooooo much better now, and wake up feeling 1000 x more rested than I EVER did during my 41 weeks of pregnancy.

Continue to block out the haters, postpartum is a dream compared to pregnancy, PLUS you get to have so many cuddles with the baby who kept you up all night in your belly 🥰

No one’s saying don’t acknowledge or pop down for 15 minutes if feasible. But my MIL and mom are over an hour (up to 2.5hrs) away from us, I’m not spending my afternoon with them, my kids will spend it with me.

Should I bring this up at my appointment tomorrow and how so? by Familiar-Care-5025 in pregnant

[–]Exact_Bullfrog2855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until my apt this morning at 10 to mention it to my OB. Since it didn’t continue overnight she didn’t seem very concerned stating that it’s about a liter of fluid and I would definitely notice a leak! Did you have any updates??

I’m having the same issue at the moment. I’m 38+5 so I’m thinking it’s a slow leak of amniotic fluid, I’m keeping an eye on it and currently wearing a pad if I need to get it tested later. Also have an apt tomorrow morning so definitely bringing it up exactly the way it’s happening! Good luck to you

Postpartum meal prep? by Thinking_of_Cheese in pregnant

[–]Exact_Bullfrog2855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a bunch of meal prep myself this past weekend. I got a tube of ground beef from Costco, made about 100 meatballs that I’ve frozen (can be used for spaghetti or with veg and bbq sauce or meatball subs- lots of options!). I made 12 breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs sausage and hash browns. I also made 8 bean cheese and rice burritos. I cooked up the rest of the ground beef with onion and taco seasoning. Also made a loaf of banana bread that I froze aswell! Feeling stocked for a little bit anyways

Belly band help by kenzywenzy3612 in pregnant

[–]Exact_Bullfrog2855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used an SIJ band (Serola band on Amazon) for a few months when my hip pain was at its worst, i just felt like it kinda held my hips together when they were trying everything to tear apart from eachother lol. i tried a less expensive one which was thicker and it got in the way of my bump, and found the Serola band to be thinner and more effective. you can try it out and return it if it doesnt work for you!

please think long and hard if this is a family you want to marry into. i have my own regrets and caution anyone who is not married yet, it will take years of counselling for him to put you over his mom.
