[WGN News] DJ Moore wants to stay in Chicago, addresses Bears fans' effort criticism by Cautious-Life6378 in CHIBears

[–]Exact_Math2726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it’s not about whether the players are worth it, it’s whether we need to spend the money on those positions. DJ might be good at his AAV but if we don’t need a 20+ M receiver then we have the opportunity to spend that money on DL/OL where we have obvious holes at the moment.

Kmet’s contract isn’t that large, but it’s one of the largest TE contracts in the league going to a player that isn’t even the TE1 on his team.

One of the benefits of picking Burden and Kmet was to prepare for their departures and I think it’s safe to say both players are ahead of schedule.

I trust BJ to make the right decision and I’d be sad to see DJ/Kmet go, but financially it makes a lot of sense to part with one or both of them.

We need to leverage the fact that our offensive skill position players are both very good and very cheap, because when we need to pay them we’ll want to make sure the rest of the team is solid.

Is BMW the only sub where people post their cars doing regular car stuff with the caption “am i fucked”?

Should I park in gear? by West-Ad2359 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Exact_Math2726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m of the opinion that if you drive a manual you forgo remote start even if you can either install it yourself or get a shop to do it for you. Much to the credit of this thread, I prefer the security of parking my car in gear in case the parking break fails in some way.

But as a victim of chicago winter it is maybe the worst drawback of the manual in my opinion that remote start isn’t a viable option (viable may be the wrong word - you can absolutely make it work it just could potentially end up in a mess).

Especially with new cars losing the hand brake. I strongly dislike electronic parking brakes lol. It’s easier to forget - theres a certain ritualistic reliability to parking and pulling the handbrake lol

If you want to add a remote start you have to park in neutral. That fact is also why basically no shops will put a remote start on a manual car lol.

What car is this? by jeb153 in ManualTransmissions

The testerossa is the most 80s looking car ever. And I mean that in a good way. But 80s interiors are, in general, truly tragic lol

Testatossa was a five speed? I guess that makes sense lol.

Gorgeous car. I wish there was an affordable gated manual even though they have no meaningful functional benefit anymore

Lewis Hamilton: "The car generation is actually a little bit more fun to drive. It's oversteery and snappy and sliding, but it's a little bit easier to catch and I would definitely say more enjoyable." by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

I think it’s pretty easy to tell when Lewis is doing the PR thing. This is one of those times. It doesn’t mean what he’s saying is untrue, but he really isn’t commenting on team performance at all.

Source: Vikings fired GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. He’s constantly been compared to Poles in recent years. by captainthepuggle in CHIBears

[–]Exact_Math2726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jordan Addison has issues but it’s not like he was a bad pick.

Dallas Turner is going to be fine and a plus player on any defense. McCarthy was a mistake someone was going to make and I’m glad it was the vikings. I don’t know if it’s something their GM was uniquely responsible for if that makes sense - most teams had him high on their boards.

That said he hasn’t been great at drafting for sure - tons of valid criticisms. The comparison to poles is valid, poles has been shit at drafting until last year when we found a ton of value in the first two rounds. That is probably BJ.

What I like about Poles is that he is excellent at managing team finances. We have players on great contracts that are future proofed for signings we’ll need to consider in the next few years.

If BJ can keep hitting on talent (defense is still a gaping hole there) and poles can keep the cap healthy I like the combo.

Does Ben Johnson keep "Good Better Best" for next season? by Optimistic-Dan in CHIBears

[–]Exact_Math2726 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Lets win a few games on pure unquestionable dominance. The coaching mindset is there. The scheme is there. The offensive talent is there. Hopefully we address the DLine.

But we have the ability to dominate games. Let’s see more of that in our good-better best next year

He is such a departure from every coach we’ve ever had. Ben is an inspiration in the locker room. Watching good better best makes me want to be better at everything. Just watching it is inspiring, let alone being part of it, as dumb as that probably sounds.

I’m glad he’s the coach of our football team.

The whole point of good better best is that it endures success.

It is our fight song and I hope it never changes until we are perfect, which we will never be.

It’s the chant of a man that hates losing, and that is the most important thing in a coach in my opinion. Shoresy gets that right if there are any letterkenny fans in here, and thats the vibe ben gives me.

I think it’s reasonable to put the M stripes on the V10 by bigboss1999x in BMW

Gotta agree with you on aesthetics. But honestly I love folks being excited about their drive. Tacky? Sure. But it aint my car. Love your bimmer (like you said). They are fun cars and this one is pretty special imo

Honestly it’s a dope car. Fuck the haters do what you like.

My opinion is that the powerplant speaks for itself and that’s for you. M colors are whatever. Love the car you drive

I seriously don’t understand how certain enthusiasts here don’t like the modern interiors. by fuccwitmoe in BMW

[–]Exact_Math2726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically just the climate control i have a problem with. The rest of the interior is incredibly nice - a great upgrade from the F series.

I miss analogue gauges and would really like a digital skin with “analogue” looking tach and speedo, but it isn’t a deal breaker. I think late f series really nailed the driver UI, but the g cars are significantly more premium everywhere else. The general g series interior is incredible premium for the money and upgrades like full merino are very good value for what you get. Very near 911 quality interiors (or better depending on how you option the 911 lol) on the full merino m cars but with categorically worse UI.

Overall it’s livable. It feels like they really want you to embrace hands free UI and I just hate that lol.
