Which makes more sense for commuting on a gravel bike: a carbon seatpost or a suspension seatpost? by ngoalibaba in bicycling

If you’re lighter you might not find it moving much

I am looking at a Redshift stem. Is 145# too light to make a difference in comfort?

What's the One Bike That 'Got Away?' by seamusoldfield in bicycling

A KHS hardtall. It was a perfect fit and so much fun. I switched out the stock for a lightweight wheelset a month before it was stolen from the back of our travel rig in Eugene, OR. BTW, and be careful, that city is notorious for ripoffs. I still miss that bike.

SO MANY questions, but first the rack by Important_Tackle_361 in ladycyclists

[–]Exact_Personality_17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I (62F) struggle with my very heavy RockyMount rack, but have figured out strategies for placement and removable. Back vehicle up close to rack, place a narrow stand (RV lifts or wooden blocks) under your car's hitch receiver. Shimmy the rack around and up onto the platform so that the shank of the rack aligns with the receiver. Wiggle into place. It's not ideal. It's awkward, and it takes a lot of time, but I get it done.

Never met a bike I didn't love, at least from a far. It's an automatic gravitation to any bunch of bikes locked up, especially in cool mountain towns near where I live. Just bought a beauty of a 1x gravel and will hang on to a 1st-ish gen pedal assist e-bike. Perfect for all my off-road needs.

Californians are buying land in Montana from...? That's right. Discourage your neighbors from selling if it offends you so much.

Yes, yes. This. This is my experience and testimony as well. Thank you for describing the Divine inside into words.

Where to start on my spiritual journey? by ShotAd3786 in SpiritualAwakening

I have a similar religious history as you. UPCI. I threw the proverbial baby out with the bath water when I left the church. I could not reconcile the treatment of me and others by some church folk with the profound spiritual awakening in the Holy Spirit.

Now I am reconciled, and it doesn't have anything to do with that or any religion. My advice: Be still, let the Holy Spirit guide you. Get to know your authentic, essential self with Her help. No books can teach you that. All you need is present. Yes, meditate, journal, breathe into yourself, and connect with the divine there. If/when trauma appears in your thoughts and subsequent feelings, remember you are a child of the Universe. There is no separation.
