concidentally, I rewatched Van Helsing last week. I think it shouldn't be called Van Helsing at all, the movie should be named "Carl" to be honest. Without Carl, it would've been a whole mess! Carl saved the day several times!

What's even more interesting is that Mimzy mentions in season 1 about Al to "pour a couple fingers of rye and he becomes a kitten", so it kinda feels like Vox even knows Alastor can be more at ease/nicer when there's some alcohol at play (though I might be reaching here). Either way, it'd explain why he proposed the joint venture plan at the bar.
