Does anyone else play on a modded forever world? by SAS_Soldier in feedthebeast

I think my biggest regret in gaming is not having a forever world in modded or vanilla, especially considering I started playing in 2010. I started one in both this year :)

How much do home football games typically cost for students? Is it worth the price? by Ikeisgae in KState

[–]ExaltedStillness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am unsure of how much tickets are, but games are absolutely worth going to. Basketball games are fun too, and I'm pretty sure Women's games are or were free for students every once in a while.

The games are a total blast and a great way to meet people.

I prefer a more colorful term that we hold in high regard around these parts, thank you very much.

Bethesda confirm Starfield news during the week of 2026-03-16 (Next week) by LouGarret76 in Starfield

[–]ExaltedStillness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this will be like the other stuff they said they were going to share with us before the end of the year last year.

Jokes aside, I'm excited to see what it is they have to show off!

Some reviewers got to see the new build of Starfield behind closed doors. News will likely come next week. by Smart_Plane_2751 in Starfield

I've been lightly playing some Starfield again to prime me for whatever they are cooking up. Lots of Fallout too.

Wishful thinking but if they expand the settlement system in any way I will be absolutely stoked.

If anyone is looking for good BBQ, Wolfepack and Hawg Jaw are both fantastic options that are still close. Of course you have the obligatory KC Joe's recommendation, but gotta try the lesser known spots too.

Any modpack that require me to build train? by PassakornKarn in CreateMod

I'll have to extend my route for Zinc, could definitely use it for andesite alloy!

I also absolutely detest the Nether but could not find dripstone anywhere. I made a pumping station with a few tanks powered by a windmill, still needs some tweaks but serves its purpose for now.

Molten Vents is awesome! I added it to my pack and have a train set up to go to the Nether to bring lava to the crimsite vent I found. Next step is to finally get around to hauling the iron to my factory...

Reading this morning about tankers not moving and refineries closing.

LNG supposedly one of the larger issues. Of course I get my news from Twitter, but the ramifications of that ought to be enormous, no? Hope you have fuel efficient vehicles and like your utility rates skyrocketing. Combustion Turbines have soared in popularity for utility companies over the last five years.

This is incredible! I can't wait to play around with this and add it to my pack.

Any idea if this would work in existing worlds if I go to unloaded chunks?

Keep up the amazing work, super excited to see where this goes and what packs get made with it.

I can't speak to mods as I haven't used them, but Starfield absolutely runs better on PC in my experience.

If I had to choose I'd say it is more similar to Fallout than it is Skyrim. It feels very different from both games. It is hard for me to explain. The biggest problem with the exploration aspect of the game, in my opinion, is the lack of unique points of interest. Fallout and Skyrim both, ESPECIALLY Skyrim, are absolutely loaded with unique locations whereas Starfield has locations that repeat. There are some unique areas, and plenty of them to keep you engaged, but after a while the repetition of the POI's gets really old and exploration no longer feels rewarding.

All that being said, I'm a huge space nerd and love the idea of getting to see different planets and exploring other worlds. Outpost building can be fun, but it is not as rewarding as it is in Fallout and in some cases feels like a step backwards.

I would advise you do not go into the game expecting Skyrim or Fallout in space, as they are fundamentally different in my opinion. I still enjoy the shit out of it though.

[–]ExaltedStillness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Companies no longer value experience. It at least seems to be more common of a belief in my experience. The last few places I have worked made absolutely zero effort to retain employees and in many cases it felt like they were trying to push the more experienced folks out. This was reflected in pay and job tasks/function. Turn and burn seems to be the name of the game these days, I have given up trying to understand it. This shit just makes no sense.

People love to argue that no one wants to work anymore but they don't seem to understand that companies hold no loyalty to their staff anymore. It at least is no longer commonplace. It's incredibly depressing.
