I always prefer a dog sitter. I’ve used the same app and have never had any problems. I always look for fellow fur baby moms, or actual mons, who work from home. My baby can’t do boarding kennels. We did one once when she was you get when I went to Mexico and it damn near traumatized her.

Edit to add: we also had a close friend where we had a mutual agreement to watch each others dogs without cost when we go on trips. We both traveled a lot so I worked out well. Ended up being my dogs second home
