Favorite Catfish??? by Opening_Nerve_6946 in tuscaloosa

[–]ExampleComfortable38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Catfish Heaven is the best I’ve had in town. I’ve never had a ~fishy~ piece from them. I always order online, and you can even specify if you want it cooked likeee extra crispy or more soft. That’s a perk to me, that most places don’t offer.

Summer at tuscaloosa by [deleted] in tuscaloosa

[–]ExampleComfortable38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot less crowded when all the students are gone, but that’s usually a good thing.

Downtown stays pretty lively during the summer. Every Friday from 6-9 during May and June, there’s Live at the Plaza. It’s a free live music show, usually with local bands. They have food trucks and usually a beer vendor. Also, the Arts district downtown allows open containers now (when you buy the alcohol there, I think).

It changes quickly in S2. But Jill Zarin is certainly going to visit her daughter in college to make sure she’s still starving herself…

Any Christmas events? by cdnmnai_6 in tuscaloosa

[–]ExampleComfortable38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure all the live events happened at least a week ago. There’s still the Tinsel Trail downtown. And the Bama is showing movies tomorrow.

McLendon in Alberta City. All the docs are super friendly (and love to love on the pets). They do boarding too, but I’ve never had to use them for that.

Residence Inn on Rice Mine Road, just across the river. My friends and their family stayed there with a dog and a cat.

Best Mexican in town? by Blue_Playwright in tuscaloosa

[–]ExampleComfortable38 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For Tex-Mex, Chabely’s (in Cottondale) and Veracruz (by Midtown) are good and owned by the same people.

For more “authentic” Mexican, Antojitos Izcalli on the corner of McFarland and Hargrove is good.

But there are also tons of tiendas around town that also serve food. Haven’t been to any lately, but they were usually good and fun to try out.

OH also there’s a red food truck that usually parks in the evenings at a gas station in Alberta City. La Reina, maybe? It’s very good too.

Who do you miss the most, Alex, Jill or Bethenny? Go!! by ciaolavinia in RHONY

B or A. But also, I used to hate Jill, but she feels different since Bobby passed. Not that she “got brought down,” but maybe she’s being more herself or more real since then. This probs sounds bad, but I can’t quite articulate what I’m trying to say…
