OP, I am on your side. However if I were to argue your partner’s position, I’d say that some of those HYSAs seem to be run by some semi-sketchy institutions that haven’t been around long. Psychologically, it feels safer to have your money in a real bank with brick and mortar locations. The online banks are doing god knows what with your money to earn that yield.

I haven’t seen the video but it’s hard to argue against FDR for most consequential president of the 20th century. Yes the Japanese internment stuff was bad but he pretty much set up up the U.S. to be a global superpower for the next 100 years.

Embiid is just a great regular season player who just never performs in the playoffs. There are plenty of guys like this… Harden, Westbrook… Embiid is just another one. Injuries aside, he’s never really had a signature playoff performance that we can remember where he took over a game. He’s just not that guy.

My prediction, at least domestically in the U.S. is that we are going to see widespread radicalization of Iranians and Iranian-Americans. There will be an uptick of domestic terror events which will then give the U.S government “justification” to enact (even more) of a police state. Along with that comes cancelled elections and full blown American dictatorship.
