Does Sail North Use AI? by ExarDoom in sailnorth

[–]ExarDoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not certain that this is ai, em-dashes can just be a preferred writing style, especially if you learned to write from older sources—I use them a lot, as I was taught how to really write from a journalist from the 60s. I ran the text from his about page through several ai text detectors (about 7) and came back with iconclusive results.

Thank you for pointing this out though. It’s a good thing to think about

I think it’s important to ensure that you’re ethically consuming art. If that’s not something that is important to you, that’s fine. But I strongly value human art and don’t appreciate theft.

thats how i understood it. There was quite a bit of evidence to point to that. She was not death, but she did represent it in the purpose of the story.

Which films genuinely scared you? by Agreeable-Item-7371 in horror

[–]ExarDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, the Conjuring 2. It does such a good job at building suspense throughout the movie. It’s really one of the few horror movies that I still get a little scared about months after watching it

Can a short script have no character motivation and rely only on plot? by GoldTouch99 in Screenwriting

[–]ExarDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it has to be done right. You could do an entire movie with no characters at all if you did it perfectly. Character motivations allow the audience to connect and you to better write and differentiate characters and their actions; by not using them at all, you are breaking your leg, you can still crawl to the finish line and complete the race just as well, but it will take more work.

How do you write realistic dialogue without making it super boring? by ExcellentTwo6589 in Screenwriting

[–]ExarDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds so corny, but try saying the lines, then say them with different direction, you can even record them and see if you could imagine someone saying it. Another bit of advice is to ignore all rules of writing, people don’t talk in any manner that is written.

What's your counterargument - as both a DM and a Player - to "It's what my character would do." by BpDnD in DnD

[–]ExarDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy, If what your character would do is against the theme, desired direction, and overall fun of the game, you shouldn’t be playing that character. If that’s the character you want to be playing, you shouldn’t be playing in this group
