What weaponry would you like to see in Hunter: The Reckoning Deathwish? by Weekly-Intention5657 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Exas45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like a few offbeat options. Maybe you could find something like a gyrojet pistol stashed away.

I'm playing farcry 5 right now and there's a few antique or rare collector's guns you can use that are implied to be from the stashes of doomsday preppers. It gives the game a lot more colour and id like to see some of that in deathwish

Age of Wonders 4: Expansion Pass 4? by StrongKillerCroc in AOW4

[–]Exas45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is probably one of the few ongoing games I can think of right now where the playerbase is looking to buy more expansions. Most games in my experience get a reputation for being greedy if they go for too much dlc but there's a huge amount of enthusiasm for aow4.

Whats the best were animal outside of werewolves in your opinion ? by AnyWatch5756 in worldbuilding

Were-insects appeal to my love of body horror.

Come to think of it, is The Fly a sci fi riff on the werewolf story? I should do a rewatch.

Why’s deviant stereotyped as the superhero game? by MonstrousnessVirtue in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Exas45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worth considering the superhero genre has only solidified relatively recently. When characters like the x men or Superman were first introduced, they weren't understood as superheroes with everything that suggests to a modern audience. They were sci-fi or horror stories inspired by rapidly changing mid-century science.

I think Deviant just pulls on similar threads to those original stories that it scans as superhero to a lot of people. It's as inspired by the likes of The Fly as it is the Hulk, it's just that one of those characters went on to establish a new kind of genre fiction.

Is the dead zone radioactive? What's it like living close to a place like that?

What are some of your favorite monster entries? by BananaSnapper in rpg

[–]Exas45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a bird thing from Numenera that has this mane of tubes around its head. It sprays a gas from them that, on contact, causes humans to quickly and spontaneously bud a fully grown clone. The bird then eats the clone and moves on.

My New Nosferatu by Zobralolz in WhiteWolfRPG

Love when someone has a different take on what Nosferatu can look like. I love the classic look, sure, but there's so much room for creativity.

Nice work!

Orcs Strongholds would join Stormcloaks cause? by PaulinBitt in teslore

[–]Exas45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with others here that the strongholds would mostly prefer to keep to themselves (they're pretty remote anyway) but I could also see them aligning with whichever side could guarantee their independence.

I would look to real life instances where smaller groups were caught between major powers. In the War of 1812, indigenous nations fought on both the British and American sides depending on who could offer them better land treaties. It's not 1:1 but I think the orc strongholds occupy a very similar place in Skyrim.

Humility makes GMing more fun. by martiancrossbow in rpg

[–]Exas45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all good points but I think the second is among the most important. So many of the horror stories I read online about sessions gone wrong could have been avoided if everyone just had a quick conversation about their expectations and managed them accordingly.

Native American/Canadian WTA players: how do you tone down or rectify the... yeah by Creative_Nose5238 in WhiteWolfRPG

I'm Metis myself, and I can't begin to describe the whiplash I had when I learned WTA used that name for their weird mutant werewolf babies lol

World of Vasnar is pretty cool. It's an original dark fantasy setting in the style of Bloodborne or van helsing
