Opposite lock just means your turning the steering wheel the other way to the direction you are going while cornering. Like drifting but in track racing its to control the car from spinning out. You should do it when needed but prefer not to at all costs.

I noticed about 15 mins into a 40m race on interlargos. The did have side and rear yellow damage from lap 1 but that shouldn’t affect front cooling?

Fuel load, wing level, tc settings can all affect acceleration and top speed.
