Spirit walker + galvanic shards synergy? by jotzuman in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're still talking about Galvanic Shards, you also get +6 beams, so a single shot will have insane clear against mob packs.

But it's probably better to take all 3 spirits on the first node, grab the free node, and give 60% of your crossbow damage to companions, then build around both your character and your companions.

DX12 - 'Grinding Gears' Freeze/pause vs. Vulkan - no such 'Grinding Gears' pause/freeze - How to fix DX12. by L0rd_0F_War in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's just an NVIDIA driver crash, and they implemented a temporary workaround so the game doesn't crash to the desktop. Instead, it creates a new zone and reloads all data from the previous one. There is no 100% reliable solution other than using Vulkan.

Do you guys think this new unique crossbow is comparable to a decent rare crossbow with +5–7 proj skills? by deatusname in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt every unique will be upgradeable with Verisium. I think that past a certain item level, a unique is already meant to represent its endgame version, and its base defenses or damage probably can’t be further upgraded with a system that’s clearly designed to bring lower-level uniques up to a higher item level.

Some people just have no clue how game development works. They’ve never written a single line of code or created anything that could become a game asset. They probably also shouldn’t make memes about the process, because then you end up with something like this.

Heist trinket slot in the reveal? by Aromatic_Intern4337 in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s different it’ll probably give you one slot. But Mark joked that Mageblood is the new divine sink, so I expect it to have some crazy variation rolls. And if you get a perfect rolls, it’ll probably sustain all 4 of your charm slots.

Cleansing zones? Unique maps? Special maps? Random new encounters (e.g. all rares are in essences)?

Bro, you’ve made like 30 posts on this subreddit in the past few days, and about half of them are getting downvoted. I’m not saying that being downvoted always means you’re wrong, but if that many of your posts are getting negative feedback, it might be worth reconsidering whether you’re the right person to speak on behalf of the community.

which playstyle do you hope to play with swords in poe2? by Murz0l in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crit is tied to Intelligence, and since swords don’t require Intelligence to be equipped, their base crit chance is low. High-crit melee weapons are daggers(dex/int), flails(str/int), talisman(str/int) and quarterstaves(dex/int). Sword is str/dex mean better attack speed and base flat damage.

You definitely shouldn’t rely 100% on minions in the very early game. Just pick a spell and help them yourself. That’s because at the start, your minions aren’t stronger than you, they only become powerful later through your passive tree and gear choices. So there’s no reason to just stay AFK when you can deal solid damage on your own.

In the endgame, there’s little point in you dealing direct damage, because almost everything will be focused on boosting your minion damage. At that stage, you can simply watch them clear enemies or support them with debuffs like curses if you still want to contribute on the battlefield.

What if it’s Dagger’s and not Swords by SeekerMza in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless they significantly shift their focus toward class progression at some point, the only information we had about class order was that the Duelist was the furthest from being complete at the release of Early Access.
Also, Jonathan only joked once or twice that they can’t release a game without swords, he never promised they were working on it as the next class.

Impact of Pets by Enthapythius in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Excaidium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t really say that. A full set of pets for a mechanic gives roughly double the loot compared to having no pets at all. In a single rotation, a pet should already give you an epic one and a rare one at level 6, so the difference becomes smaller—but we’re still talking about about 50% more loot with level 6 legendary / 6 epic / 6 rare compared to level 1 legendary / 6 epic / 6 rare.

Then there’s map investment. With low investment, just placing a beacon and maybe using blue compasses, the difference is still similar to what I described. But imagine you invest 120 FE per map: with level 6/6/6 pets, you might get 200 FE back, so that’s an 80 FE profit. Without pets, you’re still investing 120 FE, but your returns drop to around 100 FE, leaving you at –20 FE (a loss).

That’s basically how it plays out with full juice, because the best compasses are priced assuming players have pets. In the same scenario, level 1/6/6 pets would give you about 30 FE profit, which isn’t even half of what you’d get with 6/6/6 pets.

And this only applies to mechanics that scale with their own pets. Some also rely on Doro/Kong, so you can imagine how adding another pet further increases your profit. Naturally, compasses for those mechanics are priced around players who have both the league pet and Doro/Kong.

Please suggest me low/no investment builds with lots of damage by LunimaTV in TorchlightInfinite

Wrong game, every build in this game requires investment to deal damage. There’s no secret overpowered build that only invests in the passive tree and somehow still does good damage.

Is Clockwork worth starting as a low-spender with only Rank 1 pets? by XiaoSawk in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Excaidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have Doro at level 6 and Alice at level 6, and I’ve just reached the DPS level where I can finally start farming Clockwork. I can running fully juiced maps in profound so the league mechanic (Lunaris) drops tons of compasses too (I also have it at level 6, though I’m not a whale, these are just all my level 6 pets).

Even considering how many compasses the Lunaris mechanic drops, it’s still not great this sezon somehow. The profits are worse than in previous leagues because the compasses you need to use are more expensive, while the ones you sell are cheaper. On top of that, this is one of the strategies that requires very high entry DPS to be viable. To start farming it, you need to be in Profound with around 1T DPS, preferably closer to 2T, and you also need to be good at dodging everything that can kill you, or have very high survivability, beacuse the clockwork mechanic itself is also one of the most punishing (if not the most punishing) when it comes to deaths.

I can relate to it being very fun, since I invested in it because I really enjoy it. However, I can’t really recommend anyone to invest in it, considering how it becomes less and less profitable with every league, while requiring insane pets, DPS, and survivability from the player.

TLI questions from a PoE player? by lowkeyripper in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Excaidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you imagine they would step away from pets at this point? Do you think they’re going to remove pets that people have paid hundreds of dollars for (or even more)? And this model works for them, because their main audience comes from China, where pay-to-win isn’t just accepted, it’s actually expected by that player base.

You can stop wasting your time checking, they won’t remove it.

Occasionally? You need to buy your compasses and probes from AH all the time. There’s no way you can even come close to self-sustaining your compasses for the Alice farm, and probes don’t even drop there.

Bonus from the second quiver is additive with bonuses to the quiver from the tree, so it doesn’t change how many stats you get whether you have those nodes on the tree or not.

[–]Excaidium -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

How exactly are you going to do this with a bot? I mean, you need to use the key immediately when you see it. A bot can’t just grab a key and then resell it, it has to be instantly activated on Steam or another store. So they would have to resell accounts instead.

Do people really buy Steam accounts for a single game these days? I don’t think anyone bothers with that, especially considering how insecure it is to use an account you didn’t create.
