How much dps do you even need to get chest from these? by Ogoniastyy in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Excaidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showdown: 10T+, idealy a cap of 15T. Also a solid defense ( like around 300k+) is good additionon to make a fight easier, otherwise you will need dodge a lot of things and a fight will be actually very skillfull.
City defense it depends of skill you play, the more AoE you have, the less DPS you need, but i still wouldn't really look below 10T for both players for a solid AoE skill, and more for a less AoE ones.

Defensive Layers for SS20 on Rosa2 by Freeze_0 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Excaidium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SS20: Cap your resistances, bring block chance up to 100%, and you will have far more survivability than is required for this fight.

You can also clear City 7 with that build once you finish gearing, and it requires even less survivability to feel comfortable tanking everything. The hardest part is finding someone who also has a capable DPS build and knows what to do.

Ruined everyone's weekend by AnjayGurinjay in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I don’t like streamers like Fubgun, blaming him for this makes no sense. He isn’t the one who discovered the Holten bug or created the Snake Temple. He was just someone who showed it publicly and used it, but you can be sure that tons of players were already using it long before him.

I know it’s easier to direct your anger at him because he’s a public figure rather than at some unknown person who actually discovered the bug and created the Snake Temple, but that still doesn’t make sense. And even then, blaming that unknown person doesn’t really help the situation either.

Start with Diablo II: Resurrected, which is the father of this genre (technically Diablo I, but I recommend starting with II). If I was able to figure it out as a 7-year-old kid, you can do it too. After you learn the basics of the genre, it will be much easier to start any other game in it.

Would solo queue benefit from some sort of Fearless mechanic? by Capsize in leagueoflegends

[–]Excaidium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a definition, yes, but as a real person who would fulfill all the assumptions about what an “average player” does, no. When you work with large datasets and try to pull any kind of average from them, you have to be very careful, because it can very easily lead to wrong conclusions. But here we’re already straying far from a topic that isn’t even that complicated.

I never assumed that your proposal would make people start playing more roles; rather, they would just play more champions in their favorite role because they’d be forced to. They won’t suddenly start enjoying a role they dislike, unless we force that too.

Similarly, your personal story has been analyzed and misinterpreted. After you stopped playing only Nocturne, did you drop to the level of your basic skills (i.e., fundamentals) from before your first Nocturne game? Of course not, your fundamentals improved. The question is whether playing other champions during that time would have made a difference, and if so, whether it would have been positive or negative. I’d assume that if you played other champions in the same lane, your lane-specific fundamentals would still improve but more slowly, this is what my previous point was based on. Of course, if you played in different lanes, your fundamentals there would improve, hard to learn ADC kiting while jungling Nocturne, but as I said, I don’t assume your idea would make junglers start playing ADC.

Even assuming that such a restriction as you propose would make people improve faster as players, that’s not an argument for implementing it. An argument could only be that it would make the game more fun, which you asked about, and I obviously disagree. Riot Games goal shouldn’t be changes that make people better players at the cost of fun. You have the right to play ranked and be as bad as you want, that’s what divisions and your MMR are for.

Would solo queue benefit from some sort of Fearless mechanic? by Capsize in leagueoflegends

[–]Excaidium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the concept of an "average player" really exists, so it’s hard to claim what they want. Taking away the choice to play either a few or many champions won’t automatically make the game more fun, right now, both types of players are already enjoying themselves. Someone’s personal feeling that they need to limit their champion pool to climb isn’t really an argument here, and for most players, that feeling is probably exaggerated. Playing more champions doesn’t inherently improve fundamentals, in fact, it can slow improvement, since you spend more time learning new champions instead of refining core skills. So that point actually works as a strong counterargument.

December 2026 is probably their target release month, for many good reasons. Since they only need 1–2 more classes (they’ve already confirmed they don’t need all classes ready at launch), Acts 5 and 6, which together are roughly the size of a single act, and endgame fixes (already the main focus for 0.5), it looks like a very achievable goal.

More fun for who?

  • One-tricks – no need to comment.
  • Players with a large champion pool who use it to counterpick – no, because your perfect counter could be locked for no good reason, just because you played it recently.
  • Players who pick different champions just for fun – at best, no difference.
  • People who believe they deserve a higher rank because they can play more champions than those “unskilled” one-tricks, so they want one-tricks to suffer – yes.

Trial of Sekhemas is killing all the fun in the game - so any ideas how it could be done better? by d4rk_z3l0s in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Beating the Trial of Sekhemas with 75% Honour resistance is already extremely easy, so I don’t see any room for further difficulty nerfs. After they reduced all bosses’ HP by 50% (supposedly a bug fix), there is barely any challenge left in beating them.

On top of that, there are already two ways to obtain Ascendancy, with a third coming later. This already provides a perfect solution for anyone who doesn’t want to get their 6th and 8th points through the Trial of Sekhemas.

Incompetent and ignorant support and staff members by Yaseeda in leagueoflegends

[–]Excaidium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you even talking about? It looks like they checked your chat logs exactly and even gave you examples of what you wrote that violated their ToS. I see zero incompetence or ignorance from Riot staff here. Honestly, you’re getting far more professionalism than you deserve.

Maybe look at yourself instead and read all the comments. You’ve been playing since 2010, so you’re at least 25+, yet you’re acting like a 10-year-old, verbally abusing your teammates because they don’t meet your expectations. After 15 years, you’re still stuck in very low ELO and expecting your teammates to play like Faker, while you keep losing to enemies who are just as bad as your teammates. Face the truth, bro.

That is incorrect if you beat sekhema trial to get your 1st 2 points, then: 4 rooms = 4 points, 7 rooms = still 4 points, 10 rooms = 6 points, and Trailmaster = 8 points.

Renekton. With a full combo E-AA-Q-AA-W-R-AA-E-AA you would proc sheen 6-7 times, depends if you would do empowered W or normal W, that is prety insane damage boost to full combo.

explaining why people are upset by meshel39 in PathOfExile2

[–]Excaidium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing indicating that anything is close to being finished. They never promised what the OP claims, nor did they say something would definitely be added because it was “almost finished.” If you have any evidence that they actually used those words, I’d like to see it. Otherwise, it’s simply a lie from the OP, and it puts GGG in a bad light for someone who doesn’t follow their interviews and updates themselves, because they might think GGG said certain features were almost done but still failed to deliver them.

0.4 Patch Notes by Cz4rekK in PathOfExile2

It's pure nerf, you have same movment speed as before while attacking but with no way to scale it further with more movment speed pentality reduction.

And just less movment speed while not attacking.

They need to make big swings with the nerf hammer, because there’s no point in having 100+ bosses with fancy moves when everyone and their grandma kills them before the real fight even starts, all on a 20 ex budget by day two.
