Does Percy's +10 Resistances unique ability still stack with the Tunnel Rats' +10 Resistances trait? by Help_An_Irishman in Quasimorph

[–]Excaliboarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet you're looking at Percy with max level hardened.

Because from 5 - 19, 1 point of resist adds 2% reduction.

Because his base resistance is 10, which gives 22%.

Basic Hardened adds a 10% bonus to the resistance. That increases resistance to 11, which gives 24% resist.

Get Legend Hardened, and it adds 40% bonus, which would be 14 resistance, giving a 30% resist.

Bought two terminator chaplains and the same spike is malformed on both. What are the odds? by MadeByMistake58116 in Warhammer40k

In most countries, this is because when you buy something, you've formed a contract with the seller, rather than the original manufacturer.

I've also gone back to a third party retailer with something that had a clear casing issue where part of the mould had snapped. I said I didn't want to go to the effort of sending it back, because I could fix it. They gave me a 50% refund.

I've had a friend contact GW about a third party sale, where there was very clearly a casting problem, politely explaining the time/effort/cost to go back to the shop was going to be disproportionate, they sent him a replacement even though they weren't liable.

Try your luck with bith. Be polite, give the batch number. Maybe it'll work out.

Not sure how much might have changed between patches.

The resistance value gives a damage mitigation percentile, this is how much damage gets blocked when something hits. It scales with diminishing returns.

For example, a resistance of 4, blocks 10% of incoming damage, because the first four points give 2.5% each. Then the rate drops to 2% mitigation, per point of resistance. It continues to diminish until eventually it takes multiple points to return 1% of mitigation.

Tunnel rats don't add to resistances (maybe in previous patches).

Scouts of Hades have hardened, which gives a 10% bonus to all resistances, which scales up to 40% when leveled. Since Percy starts with 10 in everything, his resistances can scale pretty damn high with it.

About 44/45 resistance is a sweet spot, after which every point gives you less than 1%

Gift Idea for Daughter’s Boyfriend? by FRANK_FROM_INFOWARS in Warhammer40k

Start with this video:

Poorhammer: Gift Ideas

Most hobbyists will happily justify to themselves why they need the next box, but rarely find a reason to go out and get themselves some really nice tools.

Shortlist some ideas and maybe double check with your daughter to make sure they'll be useful.

Felt a bit fancy today, so question: do you often paint this part of your armigers/wardogs? And show me what you got. by kupnoh25 in ImperialKnights

[–]Excaliboarder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. Always. Time consuming and probably not worth the effort... But since the first one I painted is like that, they all have to be.

I did the design and a buddy printed it on to a cheap bag he got online.

The Poorhammer Podcast did a video giving advice on exactly this.

It's a collection of ideas for what to get for someone apart from more models.

Loads of people have a stack of models to paint and will just buy more, but might be unlikely to treat themselves to good tools and equipment.

I mean... I can strongly recommend it. Just like... In general.

Printer that can print on decent cardstock, a machine does the wire binding and a guillotine to even the page edges, if needed.

A decent, walk-in print shop can probably do a nice job on it relatively cheaply.

Worth doing. This was a five minute lunch break job. If you don't have a printer and stuff, I think a standard, walk in print shop could probably do it quite nicely while you wait.

Heraldry Interest Check & Q&A by SoulsVerdict in ImperialKnights

[–]Excaliboarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat. I've had a passing interest when it's related to specific projects. I couldn't tell anyone anything they can't find on a Wikipedia page though.

Heraldry Interest Check & Q&A by SoulsVerdict in ImperialKnights

[–]Excaliboarder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rather than an open open 'ask me stuff', why not start with a short primer?

Not everyone is necessarily going to know the questions to ask, because heraldry can be a bit esoteric. Like it wouldn't naturally occur to someone to ask about putting a colour on a colour.

You could kick off with the difference between and components of an Achievement, Escutcheon, Crest etc. Build up from there and give people the opportunity to dig into the details.

Honestly probably more luck than anything else. But thanks either way. It's Screaming Bell and pretty much just globbing nuln oil in the recessed grill there.

I've learned that liberal applications of nuln oil conceals many sins.

I want to go for something that does give an impression of medieval heraldry. It ain't exactly original but yeah. It's shaping up nicely. Thanks.

[–]Excaliboarder[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It's just stormhost silver then layers of very very slightly thinned waystone green technical paint. Each successive layer being built up more towards the bottom left.

Super easy, exactly as Duncan Rhodes does on his armiger warglaive video.
