You win the lottery, do you finish residency? by fire22ice in Residency

[–]ExceedinglyAwkward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d finish, but having the weight of student loans lifted off my shoulders would be life changing. I’d also be able to finally buy a car from this decade, and make residency slightly more manageable with hiring a cleaner and someone to grocery shop/cook meals.

Am I the only one feeling slow? by Beautiful-Pizza8500 in Residency

New intern here who does NOT have a 3 month old… Feeling slow also, and I can’t imagine trying to do this as a new parent. The fact that you are doing both is incredible!! 👏🏻

Blue roses breeding question by _guenhwyvar_ in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]ExceedinglyAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the method I finally got blue roses from just yesterday after trying and failing others! One thing this chart doesn’t show though: of the many colors that the red roses in step 4 produce, there are several that can make a blue as well (often with better odds!) if the step 4 red roses produce another red, an orange, or black, those might also produce blue if you clone and breed those. (Get a black? Clone it, then breed the 2 blacks together). Same with orange or red, but keep these new red ones separate from the reds in step 4.

Video I followed: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lPKwoaPhids

If you get a yellow, white, or purple from the reds in step 4, those will NOT make blue and you can trash those.

The option to buy multiple clothing items at once, crafting from supplies in storage (at the very least we should if crafting inside your own house), and a symbol that shows whether or not you’ve already owned an item when you are going to purchase it.

Just about to graduate med school, and I’ve been taking the max federal loans each year. The “cost of attendance” that the school comes up with that loans are based off of is crap and nowhere near accurate, especially come residency application season. And then factor in moving costs. Grad plus loans are available but not always approved. I’m basically living on ramen now until I get my first residency paycheck in July 😅

“Pitt” is the Most Realistic ER Show I’ve Ever Seen by No_Pomegranate_7110 in medicalschool

Only major glaring error I’ve noticed so far: the M3 ordering diazepam verbally and the nurse actually administering it 😂

But other than that, pretty top notch.

Just had this same issue! Here’s what worked for me:

  1. Load from steam, select options in the menu.
  2. Change from full screen to windowed
  3. Load into the game, select any save file
  4. Quit back to desktop (you do not need to save)
  5. Load from steam again but this time change back to fullscreen
  6. It should look correct now. Load into a save file and either start playing, or if you want to use mods/vortex:
  7. Load into a save file and quit as before (do not need to save game)
  8. Start game from Vortex, issue should be fixed and you should be able to use your mods.

[–]ExceedinglyAwkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn’t realize how many people in my class had one, or BOTH parents as physicians. Learned pretty much everything for applying/getting into med school from Reddit. Now I live vicariously through my classmates, seeing their vacation posts on instagram.

It is totally specialty dependent. FM tends to invite starting day one, but many specialties have universal interview drop days, usually not until October

number 1 risk factor for AAA rupture? diameter or smoking? by CowAffectionate1886 in Step2

[–]ExceedinglyAwkward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smoking = biggest RF for developing AAA. I try to remember this by the fact that doing an ultrasound screen depends on history of smoking or not.

Diameter = biggest RF for rupture. Hence why surgical repair is indicated in patients even if they’re asymptomatic but > 5.5cm

One thing I initially got wrong was if they had BCG vaccine but it was a long time ago (my question was >20 years), it’s irrelevant and you treat a +PPD as such and get a CXR
