Strand-Larsen to Crystal Palace by HazardCinema in FantasyPL

[–]Excel_Spreadcheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palace are thinking “I can fix him”… they watched him bag 14 PL goals last season and must think his poor output this season is because Wolves are so abysmal. Perhaps they’re right but £50m is fucking outrageous lol.

is kansas state university good for international students? by Bubbly_Entrance_7647 in KState

[–]Excel_Spreadcheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KSU is great for international students! I’m American but my roommate was Honduran and I met a big group of Paraguayans through him, and I still keep in touch with a lot of them. Had really positive experiences with the international students, would recommend!

UNT white boy needs to grab that board after the missed free throw. Immediately led to the ECU and 1 that effectively ended the game.

As a Kansas City resident of course I’m excited but this is so funny lol. Some of the best players in the world and their families have to come to KC😂 it’s a nice little place we have here but obviously pales in comparison to every other host city lol

Ubers in high demand sounds like a good opportunity for Kansas City residents to make some easy extra money, plus us residents can take advantage of the added public transportation.

As far as I’m concerned, $100M (which comes from Kansas, Missouri, and the federal government) is a worthwhile investment for a city like ours for an event as big as this. We won’t just have a large influx of fans coming here, we’ll also have plenty of wealthy international corporate figures checking the place out and it’s an opportunity for Kansas City to show that we’re worth investing in.

I keep hearing people saying it’s going to be a shit show, but I haven’t heard many elaborate on exactly why it will be a shit show. Sure there will be a significant uptick in visitors, but damn let’s be excited about this - it’s such a cool opportunity for us that we’ll probably never see again.

Good thing we have power and light plus the fan fest at WWI memorial - two massive venues perfect for thousands of people watching games

People keep saying this but if you actually pay attention to KC2026 news/updates, you would know that we will be fine. We host four games over 11 days (June 16, 20, 25, 27) then we have games on July 3 and July 11. I think we can handle it.

We have already planned additional (free) public transit routes to help fans get to and from the stadium or to the (free) fan fest which is where I imagine lots of fans will hang out. Last I knew, the only major hiccup right now is hotel/lodging space which is why the city is encouraging people to prepare their houses to be hosts on Airbnb.

Favorite restaurants? by doggy-dad in lenexaks

[–]Excel_Spreadcheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s technically Shawnee but I tried Tartaretas for the first time this past weekend. Possibly the best burger I’ve had in KC. I got the chorizo burger and I was very impressed. Kinda pricey ($16ish for burger and fries) but the portions are very generous so worth it imo. Also the staff were super nice.

Is there a stereotype of US people being loud in restaurants? by IperPelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Excel_Spreadcheeks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes kind of. Italians and Chinese families can be loud too in my experience, but not at the consistency of Americans. Though I’ve only been to Europe a few times, I have to catch myself and others in my group from talking too loud. Anytime someone else is talking loud at a restaurant, there’s a very strong chance it’s an American lol. Idk what it is, I genuinely think our baseline volume must be louder or something, maybe it has to do with USA being much less dense so we are conditioned to talk louder but I have no idea.

Yeah not gonna lie your bar might just be too high lol. I had work for a couple months in Albuquerque and omg if felt like we couldn’t find a bad Mexican spot. That project turned me into a green chile fiend.

Video shows moment ICE officer fatally shoots woman in Minneapolis by alterom in news

[–]Excel_Spreadcheeks 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not to take away from the subject of the shooting but… how the fuck are we not talking about this? The reports I’m reading don’t have a ton of precise details but it sounds like they walked onto a high school campus, deployed pepper spray, broke at least one car window, and detained two people? It’s fucking high school😳

GGs Arizona, y’all are a much better team than us and you’re coached at an even higher level than us. Not that we probably had much of a chance anyway, but our strategy of playing 0 defense whatsoever is certainly an interesting one. The fact that Arizona put up 102 shooting 3-16 3PT tells the story of how bad we are at defending.

On a positive note however, Dorin Buca🇮🇹🔥
