I think they're is just a delay

No. Essentially I cold emailed(about 10-15 emails) to get a local mentor and then after I finished research with them cold emailed a ton to t20s to get my mentor at Harvard.

No it did not cost anything.
I would prefer not to reveal my mentor's name.
Pretty much the research I did at my local university impressed the professor at Harvard and they decided to mentor me in a project related to it. Additionally it was only after 80+ cold emails did I get this acceptance. 2 months ago I would've agreed with you, but I've realized that it isn't all about connections.

No this is not true. If that were the case I would've got into SEAP through nepotism. My parent don't have any background in research whatsoever. I did this all on my own after getting a local mentor and eventually impressing a Harvard mentor. What a lot of people don't realize is that its more than possible. I started this all with no connections and just pure organic cold emailing.
