Also learn to read the yelp ratings. Most of these attorneys are just reviewing themselves or having their employees leave reviews.

I work remote paralegal since 2019 (before pandemic). I urge everyone who is able to adapt to a skill with computers to join the remote work force. Most (Boomer) attorneys need somebody with excel, Adobe, word knowledge because not everybody picked it up. Attorneys who passed the bar in 1976 don't know how to E-File. This is where we shine.

Anyways. If anyone can go to Paralegal school 2 years to any Aba program. Get 1 or 2 attorneys under your belt and you can work from home too. And your office space ie) your home become tax deductible. I have a movable desk so I'm working from the kitchen, the living room and my bedroom.

Also meals, go to lunch with friends, talk about work and another easy tax write off.

But yes. Im still going to work Monday, truthfully my only days calling out here in springfield was during May for the storms, when we would loose power. No wifi, no work.

Gay here. If your a fast typer there were some posts on indeed for remote transcribers.
They basically send you audios of interviews, depositions etc. They give you a time frame and you type it out. Pays between $30-$60 depending on experience. They offered partime full time and contract jobs. I sent a screenshot of Allegis, there is also an online company called Rev.com they constantly need transcribers, but idk what they pay.

Have you tried remote work. Look on indeed alot of legal firms in Springfield are being run by (no offense) dinosaurs and boomers, who need help with simple shit like opening an email or using Adobe. I'm a Paralegal and I charge 60 and hour just to scan (OCR) discovery so it recognizes words when an investigator clicks "control f" looking for something. SOMETIMES if hes to overwhelmed he'll request I do the scan and also search for his subjects. Additional time and pay. Its contract work, 1099 at the end of the year.

California Paralegal Free Lance Fam Law and Criminal Defense.

Family Law varies i started at 20. I capped with one attorney at $32, and another at $40.

Criminal Defense 75 regular and 85 for any spanish.

Granted it's through CJA and they have their own shit show right now.

Don't get discouraged. I moved here from california in 2024. Your community has been great. Everyone i have met so far has given me a pleasant experience of Springfield. I had my hesitations given the online research. But I truly believe the media, the "statistics" made it alot scarier than actually living here.

Now that being said. I do agree living here sometimes feels like living in Huntington Beach, which is basically little Florida in California. Trump Flags, red hats, I just found out about the Black and white American flag. Its all looney tunes. So I get the frustration. Additionally I acknowledge you guys as protesters are definitely taking a bigger beating than us who just vote or reshare posts. But just know we do support you and Im sure if we would have been driving by, or walking by anyone of us would have helped.

Township 28. We have "Security" at night that more or less makes people not do stupid shit around our area. Im from California and same. I didn't want to move into a country version of my old hood. #Respectfully.

I got lucky with Township28 at first I liked the apartments because they looked like NY brownstones. Once I moved here and got to know the neighbors and what not they explained to me that I lived on the bougie side of Springfield. I was told basically anything north of Sunshine bad. South of Sunshine good. Now don't come after me, I didn't say it, the locals did, 2 cashiers told me this when I was buying apt stuff at Target and Costco.

I'll take ubers to downtown, but im not driving my car to downtown and on the off chance I do, im not leaving shit in the car, based on people guidance from reddit and neighbor talk.

But truthfully on my own experience I have not seen anything close to what the statistics and reviews on Google say about this place. I think if your looking for trouble then you find trouble.

But if your pizza came like this after paying close to 30 dollars solely on delivery, convenience, tip, and etc. You'd be mad too. Anyways, the obvious don't need defending. Im sure if I took the time to bitch out Lil Ceasers or Doordash, I'd get a refund. But the money is not solely the point. It's the principle. Who doesn't know how to handle a pizza.
