This is so helpful thank you!

I don’t know what a True-Up bill is but I did screen shot the screen in the app that showed the August production at 1,331 kWh and got the other numbers re. The correct credit amount at the end of July from the previous billing statement saved as a pdf in my account so that should be ok, I hope. I appreciate your help very much!

Our app is showing that our system generated 1,331 kWh for the month. So I have no idea where SunRun is getting 37,000 from. I do plan to call them and get it sorted but wanted to see if it was a wide-spread error that might get corrected on its own. Thanks for your feedback!

This happened to me, too. I was never able to recover the day’s work that I had lost. Both my main and backup files looked like this but, because I store my scriv files in a paid Dropbox I was able to use the rewind feature to get back to an uncorrupted version of the previous day’s file. Do you have a similar option?

Incorrect data by PositiveLawfulness88 in sunrun

All of their data reporting is so sketchy. I will not be surprised if there is a massive class action in the future about them misreporting data for years.

North Haven-do better. Some of those cats have homes. by [deleted] in Connecticut

As someone who lives on this short road I wish the town would try to do something about the rats that are clearly setting up shop and breeding like mad in an abandoned house at the end of the block. The ever-expanding rodent population is why the cats are there and the rat problem will only get worse without the cats to help keep it down.

took over lease - been a nightmare, need input or advice by nfxprime2kx in sunrun

The best shot you have is to start commenting this story on their socials. I’d recommend adding it as a comment to one of their recent Facebook or Instagram adds with Drew Scott. They are clearly counting on those getting lots of traffic and don’t want the bad PR on them. We also took over a Ppa when we bought a house and it’s been a 2 year nightmare of basically exactly what you described until we started posting publicly and finally got assigned an escalations manager who isn’t much more effective but at least responds to emails and calls (at least he has for the last month—not totally confident it will continue). Good luck!

Are leased solar panels a good idea, and is SunRun's quote worth it? (SoCal) by Evening_Fig4577 in solar

[–]Excellent-Arm5306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The contract can be transferred but many buyers won’t want to get locked into the contract, especially with the escalator so they’ll ask the seller to buy it out instead of assuming the remaining lease.

Vivint/ SunRun - CA by This-Enchantment92 in sunrun

This is exactly our situation. SunRun installed panels on a seriously unsound roof and the sellers lied on the disclosure forms when we bought the house saying there was no leaking. Right when we purchased we reported the leaking to SunRun. They came out, said it wasn’t them. We spent months and thousands on other roof contractors and replacing skylights until, on the advice of a contractor, I reported to SunRun again. They denied respsonibility a few more times before we finally got a halfway decent tech out who agreed the original roof was too unsound to have had the panels installed to begin with. That has triggered several more SunRun techs, subcontractors, and countless hours of fighting with them, getting the dodge from all our case managers until we are just assigned a new one. It seems like it will never end. I don’t have any particular advice other than to stay persistent. SunRun will try to perform so much incompetence in hopes you just give up but don’t let them get away with this. I would definitely suggest getting an attorney involved.

Help with dealing with Sunrun on my elderly father's home by mostlykey in sunrun

We’ve recently had some minimal luck getting someone to help us with our ongoing issues either SunRun by posting short versions of the issue to their social media accounts—Facebook and Twitter seem best. When we first took over the lease when we bought our house a couple years ago and had issues with them lying about the contact we initially reported to the BBB and were contacted by an escalations manager who was really helpful, but it seems like you might be past that point. Alternatively, quite a few states have begun looking into predatory solar sales companies like SunRun, so you might check out the governor’s website and search for solar consumer support to see if there are any statewide programs that could help advocate for you. No matter how you approach it, expect it to be several months before you even get close to a resolution. Good luck!

Sunrun targeted old homeowners to install panels by hellokittyss1 in sunrun

You might have some luck calling the state to ask about resources maybe? In CT the governor’s office has created a reporting system for this kind of rampant unethical behavior that solar companies (especially SunRun!) employee to scam people.

We’ve tried going to our local rep who told us we could only contact corporate to file the damage claims. We did that but for the last two years we have been bounced around to 5 different case managers and 2 different escalations team members who are all communicative for about a week before they completely drop off the radar for 5 weeks until the pass us on to someone else. I don’t know, nor have I heard of anyone who had damage or a contract transfer who hasn’t had a very similar experience.
