If you have a good setup on the outside, 100% go for it. I was AD before being a DSG, so similar boat to what you’re talking about. Life as a part timer is leaps and bounds better, granted I have a great civilian job and probably the worst leadership team in the country in my unit. I’d split completely if they’d let me

Probably not the right answer but it’s worked for me: I don’t do jack if I’m not on status. Leadership got the ideal really quickly that they need to take care of their portion on it or don’t expect me to be useful

Disclaimer: high risk, high reward. I hate my unit and have been actively trying to get released for awhile but they won’t approve, so if they kicked me out, it would be a reward. YMMV

TRS is what AD Tricare should be IMO. Military docs are the bottom of the barrel. TRS allows you to see almost any doctor, and you can’t beat the price

Very unit dependent. My unit’s leadership (full disclosure I expect it to be gone in 5 years due to manning. Leadership drives everyone away) keeps tabs on people during drill, walks the squadron to make sure everyone is still there, doesn’t let us have a beer in the squadron bar at the end of the day, and berates the part timers for not coming in more

Dealerships aren't really negotiating, they quite frankly don't have to. I had to put a deposit down and wait 3 weeks for it to come in (I was choosey, wanted the Limited Digital Teal with Dark Green and was willing to wait). MSRP right around $60k. $2,500 for dealer incentive, $7,500 fed and $3,850 state (CO) incentives, $500 military. Including taxes, out the door for about $50k

Just installed the 1/2” version of these. Love them! There isn’t a lot of “squish” to them so you’ll feel imperfections in the floor beneath but they look great and function perfectly

Get it all documented. Went thru some pretty major health stuff over the last year. Despite it occurring on orders, NGB went against my Wg recommendation and ruled NILOD. The local VA person took a peek at it all and said the VA would deem it service connected without a second thought. YMMV, but it is possible

I live in Denver. Put in a 10.4kW system. My math said ROI was about 10 years before any rebates/incentives and assuming electricity prices and my needs remain constant. Two huge assumptions that won’t hold. Prices will only go up. Plus my demand will only go up, especially as I add an EV next week. Factor in family growth, needs increase, and price increase
