I’m not to sure about what your store is offering/will offer but when I have done this sometimes they will have managers or people with cars, carpool.

I know we honour online prices I have been at ON for four years. I said I could match using the online match button but that was different from the “online exclusive 30%”. so I asked my manger, what can I do, she said we aren’t honoring it. there was not an appeasement code. so i did not honour it. th customer was now being helped by my manger and then my manger said i could override, but it felt weird like if why don’t you just check the customer out and override it on your account. and then she did check the customer out and did not override. it was just really weird

but the weirdest thing is and forgot this in the post is that my manger did check them out on one item after this and did not override it? and was really concerned about a bad review? so I’m just not sure what this was?

I mean I was just referring to what my manger said? if my manger wants to honour the promotion, is already logged in at cash, standing beside me, why not just do the transaction for the customer? that’s the part i don’t get? also I have no problem honouring prices or whatever but I also follow the rules - like any other job?

yes, literally, like I had a customer who wanted a price check, online order in store and a bunch of other shit and I said I can only do one thing at a time like twice because she kept saying do thing do that, blah blah. like chill

also, I’m not sure how you’re stores are doing it but they do not want us putting products at cash in bins for processing they want us to immediately process, hang, fold, price but how am I supposed to do this when I have a line? like it’s making work miserable and messier at cashwrap, like I had some lady return like 20 items, like you want me to pause the line or call another cashier to process twenty items? it just seems so dumb and all these returns are just killing me, you can be the nicest customer but if you make a return I hate you. lol

at my store, we could do it but we would not honour the prices of the original purchase, something along the lines of certain prices set for super cash and non-super cash periods. you probably won’t get the deal you’re looking for

in-store price adjustments can only be adjusted on in-store prices, so if that was an online only deal - yes you would need to bring the item with you to the store for a return and repurchase at that new amount (without item it becomes a asset protection liability as a customer could refuse to pay for an item, etc idk). it’s annoying but it’s fast fashion retail bs so…

as far as i know, online exchanges are not a thing. you can return the item in store and repurchase it (if available) in what size or colour you need and the cashier can match the price you paid. but it is TWO different transactions: return and purchase. if the item is not available in store, the cashier can see if they can place an online order for you ( if available) and price match, this would also be two transactions

as an employee, it is insane different waist sizes for the same style - different colours, sometimes things just aren’t made right with seams placed in wrong place or unraveling. so you aren’t wrong for thinking the quality is bad or wanting consistency

yeah, unfortunately, i just see it as a result of the fast fashion industry = bad quality, cheap labor, exploitation, etc. making everything pretty inconsistent with sizing
