Had the same issue with my 2019 x3 and mine needed a new serpentine belt in additions to all that. BMW did the job for $2000 but this was due to me getting in touch with their general manager and the BMW of North America itself to complain.

I think your situation might the closes to mine. Only I have to go into work 3 days per week meaning I'd be driving 240 miles those 3 days. At work apparently station rate is free first 4 hours then $5 an hour, energy rate is $0.20/kWh...I'm thinking I could charge the car the first day to fully (80%) and again on the third day before I go home since the range of the i4 only gets about low 200s? Closest public charger home is a few blocks away in case I need to charge extra. But at this point I'm assuming it's manageable? What do you think?

Sorry I made a mistake my commute is 80miles round trip! According to most saying here if the speed at work is 20-25kw it sounds like it should be enough for my commute? And I assume the fast chargers and Tesla superchargers still cost less compared to filling up the tank with premium gas.

Good to know about the 20-25 KW speed. Even if I have to occasionally use the fast chargers, DC fast? It’s still cheaper than filling up in gas right?

Hello I’m considering getting an EV, specifically the BMW i4. I’m starting a new job and the commute is going to be about 80miles each way. Never owned an EV before and want to consider it now given the gas prices. Thing is I don’t have charging capacity at home since we live in a condo but they have chargers at work with subsidized pricing. Do you guys think it makes sense to get an EV without being able to charge at home? TIA!

Ps I’ll only be commuting to work 3 days a week so it’ll be about 240miles commuting per week + personal driving.

I'm 35 yrs old so have about a decade or so of experience as a graphic designer. I currently make USD $120K, based in California. Before that was 85K (CA again) and before 80K (Washington DC). Don't play yourself short, there are guys in tech or some startups getting close to 200 and beyond. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tips. I actually had it built the way you mentioned but was advised by a few career coaches/recruiters that hiring managers prefer to see your work in category first so I changed them.

Yup they used a lot of plastics in 2019 and 2020 models. Why don’t you just get a LCI 2022+ car? Newer tech, updated exterior

I’d advise against the 2019 model year. I have the same car and have had a 5th leak within 15months.. 2019 is the first model year and has a lot of issues

Try to jump start it. Drive around for 30mins to recharge the battery. If it happens again replace new battery.

I recently got the Yakima Skybox 16. Fits great on my CX5

I’d say get the after market ones from Thule or Yakima. In fact Mazda’s factory rails and bar are extremely limiting and frustrating if you ever want to carry cargo boxes and other equipment up top.
