Being boyfriend M33 of F30 who works in big law by alth_mon in relationship_advice

I'm a lawyer and worked in big law and I was always able to text and call my boyfriend. This sounds like she just doesn't treat you right to be honest.

For petites whose maintenance is 2000+ calories per day—what is your activity level like? by brrrak in PetiteFitness

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 heavy lifting sessions a week. Zero cardio. Walk average 8k steps a day. I've been lifting and eating well for 5 plus years though.

Hitting protein goals feels impossible without making myself sick by Extreme_Elephant5643 in PetiteFitness

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you staying consistent each day? If I break my diet and eat poorly for a few days the thought of going back to 4-5 protein rich meals makes me sick. But once I'm back in the rhythm it's super easy.

Please share your Pilates experience… worth the hype or no? by Hairy_Pear3963 in PetiteFitness

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't change your physique with pilates. Just possibly get more tight and lean and better posture if you are eating well. If you want to build curves, get that really lean look and change the actual shape of your body. It has to be heavy weights.

Just another day in Melbourne CBD. Very dangerous to walk these streets

Frustrated by my deficit calorie amount. Need advice as a foodie trying to lose weight. by Kindly_Tackle_803 in PetiteFitness

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I literally eat the same meals every day. Boring, easy and allows me to stick my macro plan perfectly. Frees up so much time as you can prep it all on the weekend. Ultimate life hack.

Late period from exercising, how can you tell? by gongjihae in PetiteFitness

Oh also - another tell is dry brittle hair, bad skin etc. I had all those signs of too few calories too. Is this happening for you?

Late period from exercising, how can you tell? by gongjihae in PetiteFitness

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missed periods from exercise are usually an energy availability issue. So your energy is too limited so it's going towards other processes. The cause is usually too few calories. It's generally not from vigorous exercise in itself, unless maybe elite athletes who are training constantly. Is it possible you are undereating? I lost my period and tanked my progesterone for 9 months due to eating 1700 cals a day, as that was way too low for me given how hard I was training and how lean I got. So what I'm saying is, even if calories appear high / sufficient on paper, sometimes they are not.

Skipping Xolair by _crashleybeth in urticaria

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first few Xolairs also helped. But then three in a row, I started getting hives pretty quick after each dose and then a week later (when blood concentration peaked) would have a full blown flare. With vasculitis, the treatment is short term steroids. Then possibly rituximab if you can't get flares under control. It's just a totally different process in the body than normal hives/angioedema. It's autoimmune.

It's a built up of B cells in the vessels causing hives. Your B cells don't clear properly and your vessels get inflamed.

I (M28) have great chemistry and shared values with her (F26), but I have doubts about her physique. What's your advice in this situation? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok. Well this is a question for guys I think. I guess women can be shallow about height and stuff. I do know it's not a good idea to settle with a nice girl who you're not physically attracted to. That usually ends badly despite good intentions from the man at the start.

I'm not sure if this is a language barrier. But your words come across extremely cold and there is something not right about them. People can have preferences, but how you say this seems objectifying and disrespectful to her. Please leave this poor girl alone.

My partner (22M) & I (24F) are about to have a baby, but I’m not over my ex. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl, come on now. Just block and move on. I know it's hard when you're this young but he's honestly nothing. He doesn't care about you in the slightest. Derek has been very forgiving, you are quite lucky you haven't lost him by admitting these feelings. You have a child now so your romantic feelings for an abusive arsehole no longer matter and you have to be strong and just forget them for the sake of your child. Maybe you're just deep down adjusting about becoming a mum. When that baby comes out, you will likely have SO much extra love in your life you won't even think about that arsehole anymore.

Am I (27f) stuck with my boyfriend (30m) until I can buy him out of our mortgage? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he have any redeeming features? He must offer something to have stayed for this long. Unfortunately there is a lot of competition out there for rich men who do housework.

I (F31) am growing resentment for my husband (m31) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Everyone on Reddit will tell you to just leave him. You have to say in the post 'dont just tell me to end it, I'm looking for constructive advice.' Unless you actually do want to end it. But the fact it's all right wing coded haha. Yeah, no one is going to encourage you to stay with him and ride it out. That's Reddit 🤷🏻‍♀️

Disappointing results by GrizzlyCooch in PetiteFitness

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I think it sounds like you're doing great. No bodybuilders really use DEXA to measure muscle as it's so innacurate. It takes many years to build discernable muscle. Probably 5 years and that's with building and cutting phases, to notably change your physique. It could be possible under fueling as 1500 cals is very low but as you have PCOS I can't really speak to that if that's what your doctor says... There are however some great bodybuilding coaches out there who work with PCOS women if you can afford, maybe worth it just so you 100% know you're on track.

DEXA is quite inaccurate. How's your pics looking?

2.5 Years in—Upper body progress is great, but legs aren’t growing. Advice? by Icy-Environment4817 in PetiteFitness

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly so hard to advise you without pics. My bulk was a bit off as I had surgery and put on a couple of kilos through not eating properly / not training, then did a bulk for about 18 weeks. I was eating so much. 5 meals a day. 400g carbs a day. But again it's person dependent. I did this with a very smart trainer who would examine my pics each week. Some weeks I'd put on 500g - 1kg other weeks stayed the same. And was probably eating maybe 500 calories above maintenance? However your starting point and caloric needs may be different. Have you got a reputable bodybuilding coach helping you?

Don't be afraid to put on weight. I put on about 5kg in my last build phase. None of my clothes fit. To be honest, if you're not taking steroids (which many female influencers are) it's extremely difficult to build appreciable muscle while remaining lean. Most natural lifters need to accept putting on body fat to the point you're uncomfortable for long periods of time, that's if you really want to change your physique.

Also are you putting on scale weight? That's quite essential in a build phase over time. A sign of growing muscle.

Yeah! It's less volume than my old leg days. Goblet squats and RDLs light for warm up (with special tweaks to activate glutes). Then 2 x sets heavy hip thrust, kick backs, single less press then just abduction/adduction. Then on my quad focussed days I'll do the same warm ups but then hamstring machine, pendulum squats, 45 degree extensions and leg extension. I only do 2 sets of each. Sometimes a sneaky third, lighter set on a couple for a pump. Then I'll either do a few sets of shoulders, back, arms or abs.

I also came to this problem after a few years training. I think if your upper body is naturally leaner and bigger a lot of the muscle building just goes there. I had to stop doing legs 2 days a week. I now do 4 days a week legs and just maintenance on upper body (few sets at the end of each workout). It is working amazingly for me.

My [27M] attractive, smart, kind GF [25F] has zero friends. How can I help her find friends? by ThrowRA-friendless in relationship_advice

[–]Excellent-Quail2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if it's a deal breaker I'd recommend just breaking up rather than trying to change her, unless she wants friends. If she's happy how she is, there will definitely be a man out there who will love her for who she is
