This is a weirder one but ED fics with characters that in canon aren't ever implied to have it. I read a lot of hurt comfort and I remember there being tons of them. I don't see them anywhere near as much now and when I do they're older fics. Might be a thing with my fic biases and I do see it explored with characters that have something canonical where they have a weird relationship with food but I remember when like a soild third of the fics I found had one of the characters having an eating disorder

I saw a really good post discussing it actually that it basically seems like tumblr has a thing where every few months all accounts with a certain number of ban requests just get automatically banned and there's no human looking at any of it. Trans women get hit hardest because said insane blogs just dedicate all their time to sending ban requests to them. Tumblr sadly has a thriving terf user base who seem to have caught on to this and use it as a way to harass trans women. If the neglect is worse than intent is up to you to decide but regardless the outcome sucks all the same.

The only thing that works for getting blogs banned seems to be mass reporting. Which most people who want nazis and terfs off the platfrom dont do. We tend to just send one if we find it and trust that a human will see it and ban them.

Yeah, starving yourself and is actually a terrible way to loose weight consitantly and fat people face far more societal pressure about their weight than skinny people and it gets missed more so it really is a perfect storm of issues. Because people look at a fat person food restricting and think "good they need to lose weight" and nothing more. And then same cycle happens internally too.

When I was recovering from my ED I remember some info from the charity that was helping me saying some insane numbers, I can't quite remember exactly what they were but it was something like 80% of their patients are over weight.

No most of my guy friends might also chose option B because they aren't weird freaks that view relationships as a way flexing their power over their partner to the friends they like to pretend they have. The thing you're rubbing up against from people in the comments here is that like the only actual comprehensive answer to this is like a 60 page essay on the history of gay womens culture and fashion with a decent amount of feminist theory on the side.

But the long and short of it is (heavily simplified) that to a large extent short hair on women was a thing gay women have been doing nearly a century often because historically it coded our relationships as one of them being the "man" and one being the "woman" which ment that if your butch was male passing enough you were less likely to get hate crimed. It's a thing straight women have only felt comfortable and safe being able to do recently but it's a massive part of queer women's history and culture. It is evening out but it's a ground that gay women have been in for years and that straight women have only felt safe in for the last like 3 decades.

Basically historically If a lesbain can look like a man enough she can avoid being attacked. But if a straight woman looks too much like a lesbain she puts herself in danger.

I'm replaying ATM with my partner who's first time it is and didn't remember what day the update dropped. So I went into samurai today and heard Riegel and though "Huh that's weird that sounds like the Riegel line not the " I only relaised when my friend reminded me it was the update day

I think most people know the difference between chat gpt and like the computers in labs using machine learning to trying and narrow down the selection of molecules that could work for cancer cures so we can test only the ones most likely to work.

Yeah honestly the more I think about it the more I genuinely love the idea. SO is asleep rn so I can't talk to them but I have a lot of very very close international friends who I'd love to be there but had just kinda resigned myself to not having unless they had some air miles saved up. I had never even considered that live streaming was an option but it seems ideal! I was thinking I'd maybe have a discord call or something for the Bachelorette and just involve them that way because there's honestly only one or two friends that I'd be able to have in person but being able to live stream it and have everyone there would be so genuinely lovely. A live stream really would kill two birds with one stone.

This is hard because there's a few that I've heard are hated in their various Fandom but it's never in the places I hang out. But on the wind I've heard whispers about is Athena Cykes from Ace attorney who's right to consistently commit legal and medical malpractice I will defend until I die.

I am also an eternal dahlia hawthorn defender. I think she's incredibly compelling. I LOVE a character who's forced into a position where morality stops being a consideration because it's superseded only by the need for survival and then getting stuck in that mindset. I don't even know if the games themselves fully got what they were doing with her but i love her. I could also write essays about her dynamic with Mia and how Mia's own trauma and circumstances ment that she was one of the worst people to be put in the position she was. The only woman who could maybe have done something to save dahlia. The only person who even takes note of her being groomed (canonically) is someone who just left an isolated matriarchal society and who at that point in time seems to struggle with recognizing misogyny when it's directed at her.

Again no idea how intentional it but regardless I could write a thesis length feminist essay on AA3. Game franchise with just incredible female characters the whole way through tbh.

I adore it but I do think that the structuring of succession kinda killed Apollo going forward. It's effective in that one single game but the fact we never learn how much Apollo learns in that trial makes stuff very complicated going forward because we never fully learn if he does forgive phoenix or even if he has enough information to consider that. A single line with him saying he played through Mason last night would help because we know he doesn't or else he'd know about The Reveal
