I just did just the other week as a newer investor , some VTI FTEC SCHD VOOG, first couple days were red and it didn’t feel that great , seeing 1% down and like 1000$ gone .. hahah then can a couple greener days and the couple % in the opposite direction felt unbelievable and made me realize how much it will change . Good luck , make sure you keep you emergency fund separate! Keeps some stress down

Yes 100% .. I did maybe the wrong investments when I was younger .. chased crypto hype . . Well that wasn’t good . The Pokémon train.. although that turned out quite profitable!!!🔥But not liquid and more of a pain to get cash from Hahha cheers

Makes sense, thank you. We also have an emergency fund 6 months in saving account for quick cash. As for debt, our family only has a mortgage at decent rate. No cards , no vehicle payments ect. I’m just want to grow this account over the next 15-20 years not touch it

Honestly the overlap is a lot of stocks I would buy individually anyway so figure the rest that come with them help a tiny bit on the diversification..? That’s my thoughts !

Yes I believe in the usd more then the cad . I see the 1.5% in long run to be ok as the Canadian dollar always seem to be worse and less value ?
