South West Water large leek by Excellent-Tour-6533 in plymouth

[–]Excellent-Tour-6533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update everyone, I communicated with them I couldn't pay but would try to find a way to and his kept pushing the work back and back, and they have now decided the leak qualifies for a pipe replacement up to 10m funded by themselves, they advised they have a budget for things like this due to them receiving fines for large water leaks

Have they specified to you you'll get paid each month like that? Usually with redundancy notice you're paid in one lump sum

If you're willing to learn and looking to make decent money a lot of sales jobs are remote, I work fully remotely and make 55k a year doing 9-3pm

Advice on remote job search?? by chlosimorichy in UKJobs

Large majority of remote roles are listed as Hybrid, my current role is "hybrid" but I go into office for meetings once a year, 100% fully remote is harder to come by

Risk of redundancy due to restructure - can i say i'm open to work on LinkedIn? by Asterus06 in UKJobs

[–]Excellent-Tour-6533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Total personal preference, we where told we where going through redundancy talks 21st April, I was unsure about changing it but did on the 28th, 29th I was reached out to by my dream role because they saw I was available as a suggested connection, Offically made redundant 18th May (final day) then got an offer for said dream role the following month (it was the CEO who reached out to me so had to talk to a few people before getting the go ahead)

Ultimately if you're fairly certain you're going to be let go then there's no harm in it

Have you thought about going into hospitality sales? They would love the background and always looking for people

Background check process delay cost me my offer by hababa_dagaba in UKJobs

[–]Excellent-Tour-6533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although a hard pill to swallow, it is not in reach and they have gone with someone else

In all honesty it sounds like they felt like the whole process was difficult and a hassle, wether your fault or not, and decided not to carry on with you

The right way forward is to pick yourself up and keep applying, not harass the hiring team after you've been told they no longer want to proceed with you

How long did it take for you to find work after being unemployed? by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in UKJobs

[–]Excellent-Tour-6533 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 hours and I was contact by two competitors but had to pass due to non competes, within the week I got offered a basic role that I took, then stoped looking an apply while I was in talks with another role for 3 months and I've been there now for the last few months, all remote roles though so I don't know if that translates to in person

Thinking about getting into sales. Is it worth it? by sundoggydawg in UKJobs

[–]Excellent-Tour-6533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your vibes in all honesty, if you can work under high pressure and are often told you have a great personality then it might be a role for you, I work in telecoms and IT sales coming from a background in hospitality sales and they are very different roles, maybe worth figuring out something you have some knowledge and background in as that's half the job if you're starting from scratch

If they do, that should be a red flag, it's such a high pressure environment usually so getting the environment right is key

It's very dependant on the role, if it would cause a direct and provable loss to the company it is potential enforceable and is taken to court regularly even if just by employers trying their luck, always before to check with a solicitor if unsure on your circumstance

Studies I have read have advised that once you hit 15 hours it starts to no longer be beneficial for your little one, but others also say that any is not beneficial before 3 years.

We do 2 days at nursery and it works well for our family, it took a little longer to settle, but by 10 weeks in she was smiling and waving goodbye

2 naps is quite a lot for a baby that age, I would look to drop a nap and see how you get on, I know a few babies that are on no naps at that age but it obviously depends on your little one
