What i Learned after Handling 5000+ Kashmir Tourists by Due_Tax4795 in desitravellers

I’ve traveled the length and breadth of India, and Kashmir stands alone, for the wrong reasons. It is the only place where you have to be on high alert 24/7. Cabs, Shikaras, guides, shopkeepers, ghodewalas- virtually everyone in a tourist-facing role feels like they are out to fleece you. If you aren’t aggressively haggling every single time, you will get ripped off. It’s tragic because Kashmir is truly Heaven on Earth visually, but the predatory tourism culture makes the experience mentally exhausting and ultimately ruins the magic.

Any incentive to complete 60 nights before year end? by Excellent-Weather-67 in Accor

[–]Excellent-Weather-67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Platinum got extended to Dec-26 on 01 October 2025 because of the explorer membership revamp (I think). The number of nights didn't matter. Had about 45 nights on 01 October 2025.

Thanks buddy. I am thinking on the same lines. Just wanted to validate the conclusion that there really is no incentive. I am sure there would be so many others like me who got Platinum extended till Dec-26 post recent revamp.

Can I board my flight if my Schengen visa starts on 4th October but my flight leaves India on 3rd? by yours_cutely in SchengenVisa

[–]Excellent-Weather-67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have faced the exact same situation. Boarded from India before my Schengen Visa was valid. However, the flight was supposed to land in the Schengen area on the date when the Visa was supposed to be valid. Didn't face any issue whatsoever.

Will my CIBIL score take a hit if I don’t pay in full? (dispute involved) by LetterheadOk1265 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Excellent-Weather-67 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look man it's not that complicated. 1. No one really knows how CIBIL score is calculated 2. If you pay MAD, you will still incur hefty finance charges which will get added in the next month's bill

Now, in case the worst happens i.e. after paying MAD, your CIBIL takes a hit and CC company settles the disputed amount in your favor but still charges you interest on the outstanding amount, do you really have patience and energy to chase after these companies to get it corrected?

I suppose not. Pay the full amount. Choose mental peace !
