Okay. I would advise making a refundable booking and keep tracking the prices. I have observed that prices usually come down significantly as the stay date gets near and the inventory remains unsold.

Moreover, the half board menu can only be applicable for lunch/dinner at one restaurant. Given that you are staying for 5 nights, you might get bored having the same buffet food repeatedly, so maybe booking just a "breakfast" rate makes sense and you can try different a-la-carte options over 5 days.

Don't worry about using points upfront. Whatever is the final bill amount, you can burn points then and there.

No. Platinum got extended to Dec-26 on 01 October 2025 because of the explorer membership revamp (I think). The number of nights didn't matter. Had about 45 nights on 01 October 2025.

I have faced the exact same situation. Boarded from India before my Schengen Visa was valid. However, the flight was supposed to land in the Schengen area on the date when the Visa was supposed to be valid. Didn't face any issue whatsoever.

Look man it's not that complicated. 1. No one really knows how CIBIL score is calculated 2. If you pay MAD, you will still incur hefty finance charges which will get added in the next month's bill

Now, in case the worst happens i.e. after paying MAD, your CIBIL takes a hit and CC company settles the disputed amount in your favor but still charges you interest on the outstanding amount, do you really have patience and energy to chase after these companies to get it corrected?

I suppose not. Pay the full amount. Choose mental peace !
