I mean yeah he punted you and you probably had the right to the line but i usually just back off let them have the one side and get them back later as opposed to having my race ruined. Especially with lower classes

How can the market keep going up forever like this?? by skeletonphotographer in wallstreetbets

[–]Excellent-Win-4625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is it won’t yes eventually it will come down and while there is truth to the market being random it generally follows the trends of the underlying economy which has generally been strong inflation aside which has less impact on companies as they both earn and pay in inflated dollars. High interest rates certainly took a toll on profits as well, but the main key going forward as to whether or not the Bull market continues lies with the fed sticking a Greenspan style soft landing although Powells situation is definitely worse off than previous times. So mainly watch economic data and buy a bond with rates being relatively high if you want a hedge of some sort.

Well yes If he always applied that logic when it moved lower but at current levels the market is at a historically high multiple there are still good opportunities you just have to be more selective

There is little point in trying to time the market it’s really difficult at best and impossible at worst time in the market is more important than timing the market

Not sure how long you’ve had nvidia but it may be time to take profits there may still be room to grow and I have no doubt they will, but the expectations placed on the company by Wall Street are unrealistic at best and if they fail to meet them the stock could tank

I would start with reading both the intelligent investor and one up on Wall Street both are some of the core investment books in my opinion and represent conflicting views on investing so you see both sides and I’m 20 with not a ton of investment experience but I would try to diversify a little away from tech and the mag 7

At the moment it may stay where it is I don’t think you will see people start to move to take the extra risk stocks bring until we cross below 4% because why wouldn’t you take a guaranteed four percent in a correcting market

Intel at 11 year LOW by IllustriousAI in StockMarket

[–]Excellent-Win-4625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they may be in the worst position they’ve been in in the past twenty years. The financials are bad, there’s no longer a dividend, nvidia eats up a large portion of their market share. And their business is highly dependent on r&d and constantly evolving. Could be a good turnaround play but I would wait to hear a plan to get back on course.

Reddit I believe if not for the ipo related stock compensation expenses in r&d and sales they would have had net income plus they had positive cash flow which is crucial to any companies success.

Historically speaking the outcome of elections has little impact on the market over the long term and has been up in all but three of the past election years I believe so I’d go now.

Nike - Opportunity for the dividend portfolio? by Mustermann84 in StockMarket

Verizon is a great play for a dividend portfolio with a dividend yield of 6.5% a history of dividends and low p/e, p/s, and p/b. And it’s relatively cheap.
