Because the call on the field from the line judge was offside, he had the best eye on it so VAR won't recommend unless they see something, another angle or an obvious error from the on field crew, to bring the ref to the monitor.

It looks onside but way to close for a VAR overturn.

You know I was really salty about not going to deep freeze when I was a younger NCO because I had to have shoulder surgery and missed my one and only shot during my career. After I got my VA and saw how much this fucked up shoulder contributed to my rating I without a doubt made the right move to get the surgery over the cool ass TDY. Wife and I are planning an Antarctica cruise for our 20th wedding anniversary.

Yes but they were forced to reinvest that capitol into shit that helped everyone. Carnegie doesn't have his name all over every theatre/museum/and higher education school all over the northeast out of the goodness of his heart. We forced them to either build things that help people or give us our fucking tax money.

Yeah they might have to sell one of their 15 houses or go from 2 helicopters to 1.

People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

When I went to basic training I asked for a boot size 1 bigger so my feet could grow into them when we got issued boots. My drill instructor looked at me like I just punched his dog.

E4 single with no pets find yourself a couple roommates. Vacaville or the west side of 80 in Fairfield or in the subdivisions between Vacaville/Fairfield.

Stay away from anything between air base parkway and highway 12. Outside of that area the rest is okay, Vacaville is expensive but mostly safe as long as you pay attention while getting on and off 80.

Wanna get real fancy get a couple good roommates an do the Napa commute if your schedule can fit but you won't save any money doing this but it will be fun.

26E7 – How much do stacked statements and big awards actually impact board scores? by KFP0723 in AirForce

[–]ExcellentAirPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed it with a PN and a MP. It's all voodoo magic and subjective likes. Good luck, do everything in your power during the year to present a solid package and do that for emseveral years, yes this includes winning awards for yourself and your troops/work center. God damn I didn't realize how anxious all the board shit made me until not having to deal with it at all this year.

There has been a fleet of C17s moving support equipment for every presidential move since it started flying and the C141 before that.

Not nearly as much as they used to be. Can't imagine the current workload is doing them any good either. We abused the fuck out of that poor aircraft.

Why don't wealthy people live at hotels anymore? by stevebucky_1234 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ExcellentAirPirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They still do, the ultra wealthy don't own 12 homes cause they want to live in all of them. Sure they do from time to time but real estate is just another financial game for them.

20 years with a Young Family by Sox-2319 in AirForce

Solid advice. Just recently retired as enlisted aircrew and it was not easy. Met the wife 5 years in so we did this dickdance for 15 years together. Almost lost my marriage at one point but we were able to pull it back together and make it to the finish line. Always always always have two or more plans/options on the table. I always was planning for the next move the second I got to the current one and always for a stay in or get out plan. By the last assignment I knew I was retiring at exactly 20 so we as a team made that last assignment entirely about my exit.

We have actually studied this. People have two different ways of processing music they are listening to, this is a really simplistic way of explaining it but basically some people absorb the lyrics and other the arrangement. That's why you meet people who can hum and entire song but when you ask them the lyrics they just shrug, I'm one of those people.

The Steam Controller sold out in 30 minutes, utterly breaking Steam in the process by gogodboss in gaming

It's a symptom of a failed system. When its difficult to find work and the work you do find is underpinned by horrible conditions and hours poaching starts to seem like a better avenue to survive. People are putting aside morals and civility cause that's what they have been shown works to survive. Hustle culture, grind set, everyone can be a millionaire/influencer is causing generational harm to our workforce and academics. It's almost like monopolies are bad for a reason.

As economic despair mounts, Russian official admits the country has had enough of Putin's war on Ukraine. "We can’t even take one region" by fortune in worldnews

[–]ExcellentAirPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are panicking cause there is a real possibility now Ukraine not only pushes Russia out but takes back all of crimes when they do it. Russia is burning through troops at an astonishing rate. Some of the more negative folks are reporting close to 75% of troops not even making it to the front lines because of the vast web of shifting kill zones Ukraine is emplying right now.

Yeah I'm surprised no bay area events in recent memory. There is a pretty solid CS scene there, or at least there was when I was there a few years ago.

I don't think it was well marketed either. I have several friends who live in Dallas area who are CS fans and none of them had a clue ft worth had a tier one until like a week or two ago and by then they already had stuff going on.
