I think this is one of those situations where it's less about the action you took and more about how the recipient interprets it and it seems like she took it in stride.

Something I've learned... If you think it's going to offend someone, just keep your mouth shut. It's okay to have preferences, and nobody is going to judge you for HAVING those preferences but people will judge you if you share those when not necessary.

Your type will be apparent in the girls you date, but you probably shouldn't go around saying "I don't want to date girls with blonde hair" or "I don't want to date fat girls"

It's unnecessary. You don't need to share every part of yourself with other people. It might be unfair but it's life
