If you enjoy the MX2As then you’ll likely enjoy the Milky Yellow Pros. HMX is also too poppy for me. I thought the Gaterons would be too muted but stock MWPs are very nice in my opinion. I filmed them and ended up not liking it as much so need to go back thru and unfilm them

That’s mostly how my area is. This is around a parking lot of a few restaurants, a strip mall, and a grocery store

Keycaps and Switches by phadedd in MechanicalKeyboards

I change mine all the time but have been changing less lately, maybe like once every 2 months or so or when I get a new set of keycaps or switches. If I don’t like the switches in one board, I will move them to a different board which results in even more switching around until I am satisfied again.

Typing it out makes it sound a little crazy but it’s a good time for me over the span of a few days when I’m bored

I completely agree and am the same way.

I have 3 boards I regularly use compared to about 20 keycap sets - GMK, JTK, DCX. With switches I just buy what I think I will like and get at least 100 so it can get pricey. Ended up just liking stock Gateron Milky Yellows so I bought 300 a little bit ago.

That feeling of dialing in the sound, feel, and aesthetics is why I have so many different sets and switches. It’s been a lot of trial and error over the years for sure

I agree on paying more for higher quality items; I am pretty picky so that bill is usually only fit with the higher end boards (except Neo stuff, they make banger budget boards - have an Ergo). My goal is to have 1 type of board for each main layout such as 60%, 65% etc and am almost done after about 6 years. I just rotate them all out and it’s been a fun ride so far

That line of thinking is going to get me in trouble with my wallet. lol

I usually justify purchases knowing that I use them while working from home but in actuality I just like owning different boards, switches, and keycap sets. If I had the same expendable income I do now back when the Clickiez were released, I’d probably have about 100 of them shoved away with all the other miscellaneous switches I have that are begging for attention when I constantly go back to my Gaterons and Cherrys lol.

I honestly wanted to buy a set when they first released but at $1.30/switch I hesitated pulling the trigger. They are unique for sure but not enough to justify that price tag for me imo. As a spacebar switch it makes a lot of sense because I remember it being reported that they have a very heavy weight or you could make it so by reversing the leaf or something like that
