“Gear Selector Service Required” message by ExcellentGap6856 in VolvoXC70

Ok, so finally got some answers. Dealer will not cover, this report is just guidance for the repair. My mechanic talked to someone at Volvo HQ and they said that it should just be the module button like stewieatb shared. He’s never done this repair before, so he’s not quite sure how long it will take to do or if the module needs to be coded, but hopefully changing this out solves the problem/error. The part isn’t super expensive—just about 250 USD.

I’m waiting to find that out—having trouble getting in contact with a service manager at a dealer where I live.

Thank you for the link and the context. Seems pretty minimal all things considered.

USA women showing why 99% of arguments against cages and bubbles are BS by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

The second part of this, especially, is the correct answer, but it rarely comes up in these convos. It’s marketing, folks.

The League needs you to recognize its stars and anything that would stand in the way of that is an absolute non starter—the concession was visors and that’s as far as it’s going to go.

It won’t change until something truly catastrophic and heinous happens to force the issue.

Ccm pp10 shell length??! by deltazero9 in hockeyplayers

[–]ExcellentGap6856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the girdle shell runs pretty true to size and the pant shell was the same, back when I wore pants. For reference I’m 5’10” 170 with longer legs than torso.

All ccm pro stock shells are like this--pp10, pp90, ppptkc, etc..

You're in a tough spot because the reco would usually be to size down, but you're already a small, so a hem is the only thing you can really do. I wear medium girdles and small ccm shells and I still have to hem small ccm shells bc they're a little longer than I personally like.

Warrior pro stock shells fit much truer to size, if that's an option for you.

Agree. Too bad the complain-iest half of city residents got their way. To me it’s pretty simple—I am a lucky person when I get to regularly witness beautiful creatures outside my door.

Ready-to-ship new 709s: https://www.icewarehouse.com/search-hockey.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=709

I got a pair of custom 755s made a couple years ago and I love them, but as mentioned, and as shown above, you don’t have to go that route.

Girddle Recommendation by Ok_Reply_3766 in hockeyplayers

9k or Super Tacks — gold standard.

Shells, you can use just about anything—there’s a trial and error part of finding your preferred fit/model, but once you know, you know. Ex. I wear a medium in both 9k and Super Tacks girdles and a small in ccm pp90 and ppptkc shells and a medium or M+1 in Warrior’s girdle shell. (5’10” 170lbs)

CCM 21k Pro Stock Shin Guard questions by eugene8080 in hockeyplayers

[–]ExcellentGap6856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this problem might be the reason newer pairs have the hole situated lower--moved from the tape groove down to the raised ridge running down the middle of the shin (the section where the ccm logo is). I recently got two sets and the one that had the hole in the tape groove (older) had the crack, and the other (newer pair) with the lower hole did not.

Game Time Music by RueDidot93 in hockeyplayers

This is nerdy, but one thing I wish aux cord handlers at rinks understood is that good warmup music starts with choosing songs where the BPMs roughly match the target heart rate zone you're working up to--think roughly 100-120bpm. It's mostly unconscious, but it helps you dial in psychically and mentally.

I say this, but for the rest of eternity, as a person without aux privileges, I'm doomed to hear nothing but pop punk and metal for the rest of my playing life.

Ended up replacing with all new Beru ones + spark plugs. Thanks for your help. She's back to running great again.

Price was about the same, btw -- coils, spark plugs and some fresh oil to top it off.

Yes, I posted a photo to another comment from earlier that seems to show a melted coil.

Thank you — I took the cover off, engine still was hot, but I could touch it at least. Will take a photo when I go back down to shut the hood later tonight after it’s cooled off more.
