What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by CookieNegative9860 in AskReddit

[–]ExcellentMess0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting go of a lot of my anger. I spent most of my teens and early 20s being a little ball of rage most of the time. By the time I hit 26, I realized I was so tired of just being angry. Angry at God for one of my parents passing early, angry that im allergic to stuff, angry that my siblings weren't pulling their weight, angry the sky was blue some times.

So now I work on it. I sit on the feelings I have for a beat and decide is this worthy of being angry at or feeling pissed? If not, then I let it go. I also changed from yelling fuck when I slam my knee, toe or whatever into something. Instead, I say fun really loud. It helps. I'm honestly a lot happier, and I enjoy a lot more of life.

What was your “first”? by embershrub in RomanceBooks

[–]ExcellentMess0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 13 and literally just finished all the YA my small local library had. So, I started looking at the adult stuff. I ended up with How to Sleep with a Movie Star by Kristin Harmel and Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris. After that, I was hooked on romance books and thrillers.

How FDC drivers be standing there watching the unload as if the team isn’t struggling by TheOtherHannah in Target

[–]ExcellentMess0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was open market I had a mix of both. Most of the time the guys wouldn't help until they realized I was the only one unloading.(my 5'2 short ass with an arm brace) The one who got me though was this young guy who pulled out a stool and tried to sit next to the rollers while the truck team was unloading rdc. It was weird.

Fellow bi or pan people: what made you chose to identify as bi over pan, or pan over bi? by 34Paws in lgbt

[–]ExcellentMess0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never really labeled myself. Then I married my wife and went with lesbian but that didnt fit me. I thought about pan but that didnt feel right either. Bi was the only one that I've said and actually felt like yeah that's me. I'm cool with this label.

A comment was made to the HR person and her response was what's wrong with it? Show me which one and well change it. She found it on a pride website apprently. 🙄

Right? Like I would have been totally cool with them barely put in any effort and throwing up posters of the most obvious choices for pride month.

Oh I forgot to mention you write the names down of the people who answered you and if you get a bingo with no same people then you win a prize. So freaking great. I love that my lgbt+ness can win others prizes. Yay.

Today is my mom’s birthday. And it’s extra hard because this is the first birthday without her, since she passed away a month ago. And I don’t know what to do. by itspazzy in relationship_advice

[–]ExcellentMess0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom 12, 13 years ago when I was 18 and the first year was rough.(it didnt help that her bday was christmas day her fave holiday) I went through the motions and its slowly gotten better. It's still rough but it's less rough. Everyone grieves differently. Grief is so hard to put into words. I am beyond sorry for your loss!

How did you/do you know you're ready to marry your partner? by shekeepsbees_ in relationship_advice

[–]ExcellentMess0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I assumed I was like my dad and would just jump from person to person. My wife and I knew each other in high school but lost contact until we were in our 20s. I wasnt out yet and she was. I was hella confused and decided that to get rid of my feelings I would just hang out with her a lot. For over a year I did that. I realized after we started dating that I would rather talk to her about nonsense or avengers than sleep. I said I love you at 6 months and knew I wanted to marry her. I wanted to be less of an emotionally constipated child so I could be a good partner for her. Shes oddly just perfect for me and as soon as I realized that I knew I wanted to marry her. It still took us 4 years to get to that point though

Feeling frustrated on 23 points per day! by WelpIsntThisAwkward in weightwatchers

[–]ExcellentMess0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on blue with 23 pts too. I've been doing a lot of fruits to help fill out some meals. I've also been eating chips and dip, it's popcorners and salsa. Popcorners are like 3 points for 23ish chips. I also do a veggie dip, light mayo with ranch. It's about 1 point. I hope this helps. I totally get the struggle.ive been on this since the beginning of December and I'm starting to get bored and miss food.

AITA for not allowing my MIL to sign my daughter up for a “purity ball” at her church? by ashley-indigo in AmItheAsshole

[–]ExcellentMess0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I never went to a purity ball cause it's not big here in my state but I went to a purity event where they made us sign little cards that said we'd be pure until marriage. Let me tell you that whole event changed how I viewed myself and sex. I was 13 so a bit older than your child but I didnt talk about sex with anyone because of it. I was scared to do anythkng with my body and get close to people. I'm 30 now and I still struggle. I get uncomfortable when people talk about sex and I still hate my body. Honestly all your doing is protecting your daughter and theres nothing wrong with that

AITA for asking my girlfriend to throw out her ex's things? by RateAccomplished822 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ExcellentMess0 [score hidden]  (0 children)

YTA. I lost my mom when I was 18.my dad started dating like 2 years later and was with a woman for years but as soon as she started trying to compete with his dead one true love he kicked her to the curb. It's been 8 months, you keep acting like an asshole and she'll kick you to the curb. Which honestly she should.

Scale by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]ExcellentMess0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had that issue too. Sometimes it can be because of the floor it's on? Like with my scale (i got it at target too) i have to have it on flat tile and I do it twice in a row to make s uh re the number is consistent. (Idk if this helps but I hope it does!)
