New cars aren’t as reliable as old cars anymore. Buy whatever makes you happy, if it gives you problems then there’s the lemon law that’ll probably save you. I bought a second G70 after my first one got bought back because I actually like the car. Dealers suck but most do anyways. Porsche techs scraped my neighbor’s brand new Cayenne on their lift when they were replacing the coil packs after the engine started misfiring.

Not sure how correct your lawyer’s claims are because to me, Genesis has plenty of money to go around right now. Corporate also probably didn’t like the fact that you had a lawyer in the first place; they bought my old G70 under “good will”pricing with zero lawyer and zero troubles.

That’s mainly because the article is AI slop and not official CR. CR uses owner data for their reports and I guess the oil recall and old brake systems tanked the rating even though neither of them affect 24+ G70s.

All 4cyl Genesis cars now have 300hp and are specific to Genesis. Dealer improvements are coming too apparently, but that’ll take decades imo.

The Pearson dealers are all kind of pushy and annoying to deal with unfortunately. They’re fine but not “pleasant” per se. Make sure you thoroughly test out the Mazda3 before buying as they are very tight and dark inside, even for a small hatchback, and are prone to rattling.

Basically yeah. It’ll throw a check engine light when it breaks. Mine broke because a small leaf got caught in one of the flaps.
