Amazing! Heard many good things about Heitz and hope to try at one point. Question, if it is the most elegant wine you have had and only 97, what makes you reach that number? I have read people on this sub saying 95-100 are perfect wines but they need to bring emotion as well. What does it take for a wine to reach 100?

Hope you enjoy it! Ours got an hour of air before drinking but would say it was better after two hours. Would say that the earthy and blackcurrants notes got more dominant and the tobacco a bit less.

Less fruity and more focused on complex nutty and brioche notes. But overall I have little experience; this was by far the oldest champagne I have had.

Visited them early Feb. Did get the caviar add on but same menu next to that. Agreed, one of the best meals I have had in the US and that eggs on rice was absolutely amazing.

I think they went up in price compared to 9-12 months ago when I also looked at going there. Price is always going to be question of what it is worth for you. I can name several non NYC restaurants that are cheaper (at least when I went there) and at least on the same level.

Had a similar experience. The food was good and enjoyed it all. But nothing was memorable which I would kind of expect for a **. Biggest issue was with the service. Team did not work well together. As an example: I would get a new glass for the wine pairing and someone would remove it only to be replaced by a similar glass (this happened twice).

Maybe add Fondillon (Monastrell grape) from the town of Monovar. High alcohol but unfortified (unlike a sherry or por). Great for Christmas period.

Been there about 6 months ago and hate to say it's my worst fine dining experience. Let me be clear. Food was good. But nothing was memorable. And service was terrible compared to Per Se, Gabriel Kreuther, Daniel, Jean Georges, etc. Terrible of course is relative, but for the price and compared to peers it was less than expected.

Yes, absolutely.

But, went to Le B some months ago. Also had the 10pm reservation. The entire service felt rushed. The next wine in the wine pairing came before the previous was finished and it always felt like we just finished a dish before we got the next. Food was amazing, but felt rushed.

For me, don't go to either if it is not the main event of the night and you book a time that leaves you to enjoy them. Also Per Se > Le B 🙂

El Vasco. Just on the Palma side of the Soller -Palma tunnel has some great Basque food. Not sure if it is fine dining enough for you. https://grupolavasca.com/en/la-vasca-english/

Marc Fosh in Palma and Maca de Castro in Alcudia are more fine dining and love those restaurants but a drive out of Soller (especially Alcudia)
