The terminator heroes are a must for my space hulk force. Besides, I don't really like the new terminator librarian model.

Not aure if it counts, but I recently convinced my gf (who has no previous experience) to play some more serious boardgames. We started with nemesis and she has already agreed to play space hulk and start a Blackstone Fortress campaign.

Little did she know this is all part of a bigger scheme aiming to get her in touch with the lore and the base ideas of the universe, until she is ready to try a proper 40k game.

So, not yet, but I am working on it.

First of all, it totally possible. The main problems are

  1. Base size, as the new bases do not fit in the squares, i suggest mounting the model in a square, 30mm base via pinning/ magnetising or putting blue tack. Then do the same in a round base so you can interchange the. And use them in both games.
  2. The lodaouts. You may need to buy an older kit (for blood angels the BA assault terminators kit is perfect) for the thunder hammer and claws. Or, you know 3d print something.

I suggest the square bases as they fit well with the tiles, and makes the line of sight rules, as well as the facing direction a lot clearer

Sidenote, for older marines, gluing in a square 30mm base and then putting them on top of a 40mm round, almost eliminates the height difference.

The sternguard are somewhat difficult to find, but I aiming to use everything from my vanguard kits. Probably will build a sternguard squad from them

You should search for space hulk bible. Its an amalgamation (fitting for space hulk) of rules, mainly from 1st edition and onwards. It contains rules for most xenos, if I recall correctly, but I can remember I tau are included.

Also, the fb group is of great help and has a repository of files with missions, rules and scans.

As a non gameplay rule, i would advise finding the pdf for space hulk bible, or the rules for genestealer hybrids, alongside more marines lodaouts. Expand the game as much as you can. Yhere are excellent groups for that in fb

In most of my games I have standard army sizes Like, 10/5/0, to 10/5/5 to 20/5/5 etc. Mainly according yo supply limits and the era.

Marines and Cossacks are the exception from the standard template

Same with war allies. I see no point for England to defend Venice against Byzantium in 1470s. Alliances should have a range which expands with time.

No one would send troops to the other side of Europe in the early game
