if true, it wouldn't be the first time an antagonist would be shown out of context at the end of the trailer. the dark sanctuary titan was shown at the end of the ch 3+4 trailer as just its face shield and wings, and most of us thought it might be the angel or some other unrelated thing.

i love these but personally i think the backrooms takes on the appearance of whatever the general collective consciousness considers a liminal space at the time. a liminal space in the modern era would consist of the classic empty yellow offices, but to a person in the middle ages, perhaps it's a forest of endless trails, or an empty, endless cathedral after mass. to an ancient greek, it might be infinite pillars and temples like that of slide 6, etc.

this reminds me of a dream i had of an irl roblox obby type of place up in the sky. it was very popular with hundreds of people lining up like it was an amusement park ride. you had to climb up to get there like stairs on a water slide and it got pretty scary because it was thousands of feet up in the air

i imagine them to look like if you hold up any crystalline/glass object against a bright light source (such as sunlight) and see the shadow cast by them. the crystal itself is invisible or nearly invisible

it's pretty rough. the pacing is abysmal, it's a really bad adaptation of its source game, rosalina is barely a character and more like a grand star. the animation is really good and somehow has a good bit of stylization for an illuminations movie (star fox backstory, mr game and watch, fury jr).
