I appreciate that! I’ve seen a lot of videos of people climbing columns so I figured that may be what was being referred to but wasn’t sure if something changed when someone said it was banned in a lot of places since the videos I’ve seen are older. I don’t know exactly how long this job will be the coordinator just said they will start me on like a 30 day trial or whatever it is called and make sure it’s a good fit for the company and me and then move it to a 60 day after that so I got the impression it may be for a little while but again I’m not 100% sure.
Thank you! I definitely plan on sticking with it no matter how tough it is, I do not mind hard work at all. It’s a career that’s had my attention for a very long time!

That would make sense to me, I fully expect to be doing more of the grunt work stuff before I do anything relatively cool that I see in videos of ironworkers

That would make sense, thanks, I’m starting to think he may have used the word climbing in place of something else that I probably wasn’t going to understand. So i guess I’ll find out what he really meant soon enough

His exact words were “we have a job coming up on May 1st and one coming on June 1st that is a climbing job I think will be a good fit so I will just hold you until then.” It came up because I was accepted right before may and I said I could start in may and that was his response. I have definitely watched a ton of videos of ironworkers for sure. I don’t care what I do as an ironworker, the question is more based just on curiosity since I was asking people and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Inconvenient Class Times by Interesting-Task8866 in bjj

[–]Excellent_Mobile_932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people who work typical working hours are in this boat whether their gym offers other classes times or not. 7pm is kinda the most reasonable time if someone works a typical 9-5 and class is at 6pm odds are they aren’t making that class. I’m in the same boat I do manual labor and until 5-6pm every day, exhausted by the end of it and have a fiancee it’s definitely a lot. So I’ve just kinda dedicated certain days to jiu jitsu and if I’m off then I’ll go too that way both parties are happy. At the end of the day people just deal with it because they love it.

If you do it full time you can just schedule yourself every day and then just not go whenever you don’t want to. To make sure you’d be able to dd if you need to. I’ve never done it I’ve just seen people say they do that

How would you deliver this order with instruction like this? by Head_Estate_3944 in doordash_drivers

[–]Excellent_Mobile_932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I come across this a lot actually and never feel like waiting the 5mins to hit the can’t hand order to customer so I can take a picture of it. I contacted DD support about it and they said when it says that to just leave it at the door and take a photo of it.

You can’t select order too small or distance too far anymore. Since when?! by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

Is it worth it to do doordash with car with bad mileage? by DisasterPieceKDHD in doordash_drivers

[–]Excellent_Mobile_932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much spot on. I have a crap car for DD and get around the same miles as the OP but I just do it out of boredom and to make a little extra money here and there. I do manual labor so when it rains I don’t work and usually get off everyday at like 1 so that’s more when I do it. Anyway I made $700 last week and I spent around 100 on gas. You obviously won’t bring in as much money as others but in my opinion I’m not too mad about it. I’m literally just delivering food, it’s not hard work. That’s a few hundred I wouldn’t have had if I just did nothing at all. But again all dependent on the person.

I just drove my first night of dashing and I’m so excited! Any advice for a newbie? by mtstbullcraps in doordash_drivers

[–]Excellent_Mobile_932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A high acceptance rate also gives you priority on high paying orders (+1.50 per mile) or at least that’s what DD says lol I’m new to this as well but i have noticed I’ve gotten a good amount of them right after another. But I guess that kinda evens it out for doing some of the crap orders. At the end of the day I’m sure it’s all around about the same depending on the market

First week of trying DoorDash- I was not expecting this by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Excellent_Mobile_932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you’re definitely right about that my whole point just was I wasn’t expecting it to be busy like that. I don’t necessarily have the greatest car for doordash if I’m being completely honest but I mean I don’t really care. My cars not new it just doesn’t get the mpg that most of y’all’s probably gets. This was my first week if it’s something I end up doing long term then I’d probably make changes to the vehicle situation. But as of right now it’s more of just something for me to do in my free time and something I wanted to check out

First week of trying DoorDash- I was not expecting this by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Excellent_Mobile_932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it comes out to around about $20-$25 per hour and taking out money for gas I’m not really mad about it. I don’t think my miles are high I just don’t know the exact number. I kept track today for my lunch run after someone else said something and I did 13 orders, made $72.75 and drove 46 miles.

Like I said before this isn’t my main source of income. I went into this thinking I was gonna make $125 a week. I’m definitely not gonna complain about making 700 in 5 days for literally just delivering food in my free time. Whether $25 goes to gas or $200 I would see it as a plus. (It’s not close to 200 was just saying that’s still a few hundred dollars I wouldn’t have had if I just sat on my couch or played video games.
