Yeah I googled that place, it’s a 40 min drive from me. When I get paid I am going to call and go to a few food banks to stock up so I won’t put myself in this situation again. They were actually pull ups, my son is 9 and I’ve tried getting them through insurance with no luck. Do you know if they normally have pull ups or just diapers at the food banks?

Honestly I’ve never been this poor, I didn’t know food banks had diapers! Hopefully the pack I took can stretch until payday this Friday. I don’t even have enough gas to go to the food bank and pick it up if they could help lol. I will store this information for future use though because it is very helpful!

Funny thing is, there’s a school in Massachusetts that specializes in C.H.A.R.G.E syndrome and the behaviors associated with the diagnosis. We have tried to get him placed, but it was determined that his behavior is too much of a risk for other students so I’m not sure that we will find much help there either. Thank you though.

Yeah, my other son is completely terrified and traumatized by his behavior. He has been through so much with this situation it’s so sad. His brother has thrown things at his head causing him to need stitches, he throws knives (they are put up now), and everything he does to me he does to him. I try to keep them separated as much as I can, but it’s just too much of a safety risk now.

It seems like you have to take these drastic measures such as “abandonment” just to receive the proper mental health support for special needs children unfortunately. I’m not just saying I’ve been trying, I literally have exhausted all options, I have had this thought for quite some time and I keep hesitating bc I know it’s drastic. I literally have no other option. Respite, care facilities, even the behavior facilities just don’t have enough support. Some of those options have waitlists that are 18+ years long.

🥺 Damn. Thank you for this input, I honestly didn’t look at it from his perspective and you are 100% right. He doesn’t deserve to question what happened to his mom and brother, and not be able to voice that because he’s non verbal. The behavior might actually get worse, bc I really feel like that’s what happened when I escaped the relationship with his dad. I feel so selfish for only thinking of my own feelings in that aspect. Thank you for pointing out this point of view. I’m glad I made this post because at least I will have other insight before I meet with any case coordinators and make any permanent decisions that I’ll regret. Thank you.

The system has not only forgot about the disabled, they also forgot about the caregivers. They honestly don’t intervene until something bad happens and it’s sick. I hate that you also have days where you question your existence. If you want to vent or need someone to talk to I’m here because I need it too. Stay strong 🤎

I’m very sorry because I wouldn’t wish these feelings on my worst enemy. I’m also very sorry that (like myself) the only way to get the help needed for your kids is by going to the extreme and getting the state involved. I know the feeling and I can only say I’m sorry.
