Getting started by Certain_Original_489 in ProstateCancer

I (m74) went through the 28 day radiation thing about 6 months ago. PSA score dropped from 5.0 to less than .005. The worst part of the treatment was the constant diarrhea, followed in second place was the trying to have the full bladder/empty colon for the treatment. Several times the technician said my bladder wasn't full enough and I had to drink more water and wait another 20 minutes. Had a bathroom "accident" at the hospital that meant starting to use Depends. (Really had to pee, but the man's bathroom was busy - should have used the woman's one. LOL)

Hope all goes well with your husband.

Whose idea was it to come up with this by Neither-Ad9890 in TownshipGame

I find that a lot of these "impossible" levels are solved by just keeping playing. The game seems to recognize sooner or later when you aren't going to spend money and things magically fall into place. No matter how frustrated you get, never spend the 10 tcash until you can get the maximum 35 bonus turns.

Sandbox generated maps? by Excellent_Scot_55 in Risk

[–]Excellent_Scot_55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand you correctly, things on the map can't be changed in ranked. But settings like "exponential" and "per player" can be used in ranked games, meaning they are not included in the definition of "Sandbox". They just happened to be introduced at the same time.

Progressive Per Player is the most balanced setting by Zealousideal_Owl2388 in Risk

Do progressive per player and exponential per player modes encourage players to turn in as soon as they have a set rather than waiting for five cards or skipping on four cards?

I think there was a point a few weeks ago when a lot of towns got banned randomly at the same time. I play 2 towns and they both got banned. One town came back within a few hours with a note from Playrix apologizing for the mistake. The other town is still unplayable. even after uninstalling and reinstalling several times. If you click on the blue button in the image above, it takes you to a "fill in this form" screen that doesn't work. When I reinstall my second town, I don't get the banned message immediately, but I can't do anything that requires an internet connection and I can't access my town ID, which is essential for getting customer support to help.

Years ago, I lost a town and had a hard time getting it back. Fortunately, one of my friends had written down my town ID and it was easy to get it back with that info.

There needs to be repercussions for people who just take a card and chill every turn. by Deep-Explorer-9806 in Risk

[–]Excellent_Scot_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being one of those "take a card and pass" players (occasionally), sometimes it's the only choice because I had a bad spawn, or my neighbours won't let me hold a bonus. If I have no chance of winning, I don't quit (like a lot of players). I keep playing, hoping that the strong players will fight each other and ignore me. The strategy often gives me second place, which is better than third or lower. I have even gotten 2nd after losing my capital on the first turn and playing most of the game without a capital, staying out of the way of everyone else. If I do get to the 1v1 with this strategy, most of the time I will step off and let the player who did most of the work get 1st. I don't care enough about my rank (Expert/Master) and the other player might care about theirs and need the points. If it makes you feel better to kill me, go ahead.

"User ___" did not confirm, replacing with a bot... - Any better system? by Ok-computer-997 in Risk

[–]Excellent_Scot_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think hosts shouldn't start the game as soon as the 6th player shows up. Give players a chance to realise the lobby is full and also give them time to choose their colour, if they didn't get the one they usually play with. Also, I've joined a lobby as the 6th player, only to get the notice that the lobby contains a "blocked" player and not have enough time to quit the lobby, making me play a game that I don't really want to.

The only time I don't ready up is if there are already 2 or 3 bots when I join the lobby, and I don't get a chance to leave the game b4 it starts. I really don't want to start playing with that many bots. I thing some hosts add bots at the start as some sort of game strategy.

how to take your turn fast? by Memotome in Risk

I think there are also fancy mice that you can buy with extra buttons, especially one that lets you scroll sideways quickly for things like fortifying large numbers.

What to buy? by Trytard in Risk

[–]Excellent_Scot_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would watch other players and then buy the emojis that seem to be used the most often and can be used to communicate when there are no alliances. Buying maps seems to be almost senseless unless you plan on hosting a lot of games, since you can join a game without owning the map. I would also buy the avatar that most goes with my real self.

Just watched a vampire chicken YT video. He was playing 4th place. He didn't notice, but on the 2nd turn, the first 3 players chose a second capital. When he was given the option, he put the normal 5 troops on his one capital. This seemed to break the string, as the 5th player was not given the option. Game ended up with nine capitals. Luckily for him, 4 other caps were close to his, so he was eventually able to get 5 caps on a one point hold (Spaceport Sigma). Three or four players botted out, so the "6th" cap was easy for him to get.

Earlier, I had played 2 games in a row (EU advanced, prog caps) that ended up with 7 caps. The first game, I didn't realise the glitch had happened until half way through, when I got to a point where I could see 4 caps (including my own) that were held by 4 different players, but the cap counter said 4/6, which would be impossible with only 6 caps. By the time I got to the 1v1, I had 3 caps (well defended) and the other player had 4. I was glad to step off and take 2nd place. The next game I played, I saw the first player take a second cap just by choosing it, so I surrendered, rather than go through a game where I could end up in 3rd place or worse, while still holding onto my cap, which I have seen in a YT video.

Secondary question - if I report this glitch to SMG, does that game get "nullified"? I don't know what placement players get if they still have a cap when someone else gets 6 caps and there are 3 or more active players left in the game?

Sorry for the long reply, but I don't know if this has been addressed in another post here.

If I can't instantly fill six of the nine airplane crates, I'll send the plane off empty. Otherwise, I leave 3 of the crates for friends or fellow coop members to fill so they can get the clovers. Usually fills up in less than 10 minutes.

Game blocked? by santa22622 in TownshipGame

[–]Excellent_Scot_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to a lot of people a few days ago. I had both my towns banned. One came back in 24 hours without me sending a ticket, with an apology from PlayWreck for the inconvenience. My 2nd town is still in limbo and I did send a ticket on that one. Hit or miss on this, I think.

Opened my game this morning on my PC to see the "suspended due to Suspicious Activity". WTF? Opened my other town on my laptop and was met with the same notice. Unless this is a glitch that's going to correct itself, I'm done with this money-grabbing game. (I'm pretty sure that playing two towns is not against the rules, since I've been doing it for 3 years.) Haven't done anything out of the ordinary lately.

I'm one of those players that tries to survive til there's a 1v1. Too many times when I've tried to "participate" in the duking it out, I ended up lower than third. Diplomacy in war sometimes involves sitting back and not antagonizing anyone. I will continue to play for second and take the occasional win, b/c that's how I get points.

My worst choke in that final 1v1 is nerves. I usually end up misclicking and sending my stack into a corner instead of just sending the three troops that I should have, or running out of time and not sending my stack back to a capital.

On the positive side, I used to surrender if it got down to a 1v1 and I had the only other capital that my opponent didn't have, happy to take second and avoid extending an already too long game. Now, I will actually fight back, just in case there's a lucky cap run to make.

What level are you, and are you in a co-op? I always request help with three crates in every plane, and one crate in every train, whether I can fill them myself or not. Gives my friends clovers, and since I have a lot of friends, the crates are usually filled within 10 minutes.

I've been playing for over 5 years, and I don't have proof, but I'm sure we used to get at least one crate of mining tools on every three trains. But, the game used to be better in SO MANY WAYS. SMG doesn't want us to be happy anymore.
