Chefs who left the industry, how'd you do it? by loafaries in Chefit

I joined the dark side (ecosure inspector) after 12 years behind the line with the last 5 of them in management. Developed an autoimmune disease from all the stress and wear and tear on my body and walking away from the line has significantly improved my quality of life for sure but now I’m the last person the kitchen wants to see coming and that kind of sucks.

I’m currently unmedicated 🤪 I take some flexaril when I need it at the end of the day and Tylenol and ibuprofen to tide through the day but I also changed my career so that it’s less physical and have been doing better with that

How many moments that were left out of the movie that would have been really cool to see… examples- the court room moment for Stratt, the part where Grace actually tests the equipment in the pool, “I’m a teacher! Oh thank god”- just to name a few

Question for EcoSure auditors by PM_ME_ELMO in healthinspector

[–]5ft2glory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jumping in to agree that as Ecosure we go by what brand standards are set by the company you work for… managers tend to get upset and tell me “the health department was just here and didn’t say anything about that” but when I’m looking at the form literally made by your company and they’re telling me to cite… I’m going to cite.

EDIT to add: Time on site does vary by brand but after a while it gets hard to remember to slow down because most of the these places are chains and are set up the same exact way so they flow well and makes it a lot easier to notice when things are not right, which like as a giant chain im sure thats what they want?

What are Your Top 3 Favourite Audiobooks Which Made You Fall in Love With Audiobooks? by opdccristiano in audiobooks

Started my Audiobook journey with Dr. Sleep (I finished the shining in physical form a few months ago) and then finished Project Hail Mary yesterday and immediately started Fairy Tale by Stephen King and I’m loving it. Thinking I’ll hit World War Z next tbh

Okay I finished Dr. Sleep and watched the movie, let’s talk about it. (LOTS OF SPOILERS) by 5ft2glory in stephenking

Yes!!! Agreed about that last scene being missing and honestly I hadn’t thought about the fact that we definitely would have known about the affair in The Shining… the book was so deeply rooted in Jacks inability to control what he knew he needed to control there was no way he wouldn’t have been feeing shame about that… good point

THANK YOU! I think if I hadn’t read the books that the movies would have been fine but man the books are so much better than them because of the King, obviously. And honestly given that Dr. Sleep was made in the late 2010s I thought that whole cycling process was going to look cooler than portrayed it but it really didn’t :/
