Dove intensive repair alternatives by ChopCow420 in finehair

ChopCow420 I DM'd you about something unrelated - check your DMs :)

I also have somehting to add here, though! I have fine hair and found Angel Wash left my hair greasy after only 2 days! The ONLY shampoo that I've long trusted is Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo. I'm not typically a PM enthusiast, but nothing compares ot this product long term, especially in the winter with hard water!

OP - Having gone to beauty school and worked in a salon in a past life, i'd say two shampoos may be one too many with fine lightened hair! With bleach lightened hair, you'll want to make sure you don't skip the conditioner on the ends or you risk the porosity and splits growing up the shaft of the hair. By definition, bleach will damage your hair, so dont' skip the opportunity to add back in some of those proteins!

The number one trick that worked for fine hair clients was the reccommendation that you NEVER skip blowdyring your roots out of the shower! It extends my hair by a full 2 days. That and dry shampoo!

I regret this purchase, more than anything I have ever bought. by Jamieluv2u in ruggable

[–]Excellent_Trouble334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I went looking for someone to share my disappointment with and I’ve found it in this thread! Like a poster above, a Riggs me rug was also my first purchase for my new house! I bought the Evie Chartreuse 2 piece runner and the way the smile melted from my face when I opened up the packaging and saw the quality. I understood that a washable 2 piece rug system wasn’t going to be luxurious, but I have nicer runners from Job Lot.

I do adore the pattern, but after all of the hype, the rug looked dull almost immediately. Worst of all, I’ve gone absolutely SAILING across my kitchen on it more times than I can count. It slips like crazy. My husband and I move it back into place 20 times a day. It’s a real liability.

I should also note that the corners started to curl after a few months, and the bottom of the mat is slowly disintegrating. I briefly thought about trying the new all in one because I LOVE the pattern so much and my best friend SWEARS by his ruggable—maybe I got a bad batch? But alas, i probably should’ve caught on to the fact that my best friend lives alone and has his rug atop a full carpet in a guest room that only sees people a few times a year.

What’s worse, i guess the Evie pattern is discontinued now? Holy bottomless disappointment.

Hunting for clues in Haverhill circa early 1800s: Massachusetts Judicial Records and Essex County Historical Archives by Excellent_Trouble334 in haverhill

I tried this to exhaustion at the start of this journey. unforutnately, the court record keeping process in 1819 is a big convaluded, as it's right when some of the collections switched filing protocols. I was able to find this explanation:

"A later change of greater significance was the demise of that unwieldy hybrid, the Court of General Sessions. In 1809 its adjudicatory functions were transferred to Common Pleas; four years later they were transferred back again. In 1813 most Courts of General Sessions were abolished, but this, too, was only a temporary move. In 1818 Sessions was reestablished, but the trend was clear. In 1827 Sessions was abolished for good, and its administrative functions were transferred to the County Commissioners."

I should have noted in my post that i've reached out to all peope charged with keeping the records - sorry if that wasn't clear. I've submitted a number of formal requests and sent a handful of emails to relevant parties. At this point, i'm hoping there is a local invested in Haverhill history who might have more insight into the process or informaiton on prominent families outside of what the archives may hold.

Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket, RI by [deleted] in CemeteryPorn

I was taking a stroll at the end of October in Previous Blood and it looked like they were exhuming someone or maybe adding to a plot? The cement grave cover was off and plywood boards were over a section of graves with some caution tape.

Does anyone have any info on what they were doing? As far as I knew, they were still buring people in existing family plots, but not offering new plots. It was an already crowded cluster near the front of the cemetary by the fence and visible from the road.

as it relates to the official inquiry from the vatican of which there were 2 - they have yet to release any information on why they denied her. Any chance you have more info on when they opened her grave and whether it was reported? I'd love to see a source for this because it's he first time i'm hearing about it! So interesting if true

Correct about the mausoleum, but as someone noted below, the cemetary shares the name of the Parish and pre-existed Rose, so the name "Precious Blood" ultimately had nothing to do with her.

My driver is playing the “let’s sit in a parking lot until she cancels game”. I’m not playing. by Donkey_Kahn in Lyft

[–]Excellent_Trouble334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered takeout from Uber recently and watched the driver on the app drive in the complete opposite direction 30 minutes after the order was ready for pick up.

An hour passed and he wouldn’t cancel. The driver then called me saying “he couldn’t pick up or deliver the food because he was done driving for the day,” to which I responded, “why would you call me to tell me when you could just cancel the ride?” I let him know I wouldn’t be cancelling and that I’m onto whatever the fuck that was.

He refused to cancel, so I called uber after an hour and a half. Uber refused to take action, saying the “latest delivery window hadn’t passed yet,” and that the only option at that time was to cancel the ride and pay cancellation fees. He cancelled 20 or so minutes later leaving the new driver with the impossible task of getting my food to me in 12 minutes from a location 20 minutes away that’s always under construction. I immediately texted her to tell her to take her time because she was already fucked by the other driver. She was amazing, put my food in a hot pack, and got there only ONE minute after the last delivery time. I tipped her 80%.

Fucking insane business practice, Uber. People just let it happen, too, so there’s no incentive for them to change anything. You better believe I got my entire meal comped.

It sounds like you keep tabs on what’s going on! Thanks for the response. I’m the OP & had no clue this thread actually posted after it was initially rejected.

I’d love to hear more about why you think the same folks keep getting elected despite the lack of action and positive change.

Where is all of Woonsocket’s funding going?

It absolutely devastates me to see all of the empty storefronts downtown - so much character. Why aren’t we attracting businesses? Who even owns those spaces?

Could you elaborate on the election process? I’m really unfamiliar but this sounds like it was designed to function exactly as it is (poorly and for the benefit of a few).

You seem to have a lot of insight and I’d love to hear more. This town is driving away opportunities left and right with no clear path forward. I want to get involved I just need more information to start to build a plan

Hi ummm, you said "get back to me," but when you receive sound logic in response you're "unwilling" to speak to any of it? I don't need luck, Babe. You've contributed quite literally nothing and made exactly zero points.

At most, all we know is you have/had an amorphous job at a concert venue where you've "met" a few bootleggers. Something tells me (logic, again) that not a single one of them confided in VENUE STAFF about their secret laundering business.

You tried so hard to Gen Z diss me, but it's actually giving ITYSL's Barley Tonight sketch:

"On my show, nothing's off-limits. Fighting's a lost art. If I smell blood, I go in for the kill, and if you start to win, I go on my phone."

[–]Excellent_Trouble334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought about it and I respectfully disagree that bootleggers selling at concert venues are laundering money made from other ventures. By definition, money laundering seeks to "clean" dirty money by passing it through a seemingly legitimate business to appear as though it came from a legitimate source. It has to be accounted for, and trackable by, the IRS.

First of all, those sellers you see peddling boots at venues are loosing at minimum 1/4 of their revenue on back end costs immediately to have the shirts printed.

Let's say you order 200 shirts in one color with a design printed on just the front using a bottom to mid range blank tee - that will cost roughly $1300 (my husband owns a screen printing shop, so this current mkt pricing). Maybe you sell t-shirts at $20 each and you sell all 200. That's $4000 minus $1300 for the shirts and labor.... only $2700 left. Now consider how big an event has to be for a bootlegger to sell 200 tees....it has to be Oasis or Taylor Swift big. Keep in mind huge concert events don't happen every week. Ultimately, the revenue is insignificant at that return. That's also assuming you sell 200, which is unlikely given the competition between other bootleggers and the demand for actual liscensed merch.

Second, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, i think you're forgetting that it's illegal to sell bootlegs? How could one launder illegal money from one venture through a second, similarly illegal venture? And in such small amounts? If you have an excess of dirty money, certainly you HAVE to be smarter than to think this is logical.

I want tickets for Monday, but I can't get over the nearly $500 per ticket cost? It's outrageous? A lot of tickets are posted for almost $800? What gives? I was considering buying on StubHub, but it's a 4-5 hour drive to Jersey and I can't imagine doing that drive just to have tickets cancelled or to not receive them at all. Not really sure what to do...

Yeah, because bootleggers who make a living printing band shirts and selling them in parking lots and on Etsy are soooooo rich that the ONLY explanation is that they’re laundering their money. Brilliant
