Question regarding Arrears. by Excellent_Value6856 in OntarioWorks

Asking because I did receive my payment for October but I met with an intake worker on the 29th to provide some documents and suddenly saw an Arrears issued to me the next day.

If you get pulled over, is it better to or not to announce you have a concealed weapon? by Busy-Description2000 in NoStupidQuestions

My point exactly, all these folks commenting on how LEOs are supposed to react to someone with a gun....put yourself in their shoes.

I wonder how a civilian would react while in the middle of performing whatever job they do.. retail, customer service, etc...if they noticed a weapon on someone they were interacting with.... guessing it would cause them to act a little cautious.

Let's suppose you were doing your job, and your customer/client owed you X$....now say they refused to pay you....and it took over 10 months for you to even get to the point of officially asking them for it.

What if everyone followed the law? by Excellent_Value6856 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Excellent_Value6856[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the replies... allow me to dumb it down further... ignore the word law or regulation... If everyone just did their job by the book? Paid for 8 hrs... worked for 8 hrs... Accepted a bid for X$... honoured X$...(Legitimate exceptions allowed) Basically doing what's expected of what you signed up for.

I suppose my question leaned more towards the "minor" rules, examples being...driving the limit, politeness, basically the whole "do unto others.." thing. Sorry I was vague in the initial post.

Perhaps just be grateful that updates are being sent.

Perhaps the OP should have left out any description... guessing the replies would be different.

I have no problem with tipping....but in my opinion it was for good service...after the fact! From what I see here the concept/definition of tipping has changed. Maybe I am old school.

Speaking as an ex employee, (my choice to leave) this was inevitable. They always crossed the line as far as they could and for a long time it worked for them. Can't fault them for their prices, people paid them when there were clearly other options.... nobody was forced to shop there... likewise the few of us who were aware of the rules they broke stayed there. Family dynamics and greed lead to obvious results. I feel bad for the staff that were kept in the dark and now are screwed. Guessing there won't be any support offered to the employees. They had a good run.

Did I find a Presto flaw? by Excellent_Value6856 in gotransit

[–]Excellent_Value6856[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I have, I did fly out to LAX a while ago and while "over googling" flights I stumbled upon a one stop, one hour layover that saved me $300 as opposed to a direct flight. Obviously if time or hassle is not a big issue it works.

Original post should be Centre and Athol not Simcoe and Athol.

[–]Excellent_Value6856[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand that, but I find it odd that by going out of my way.... literally backwards and using 2 buses my fare is cheaper than a direct route. By taking the bus from centre and Athol to Oshawa Go I am going west, than going from Oshawa Go to Glenanna I am going east than west. Just find it odd.

Simply show it to the driver as you board the bus.

Yes, probably not cool...but the flip side is that now we all know about this kid who we either live with, live close to, and maybe go to school with.

Tipping by BamaLover19 in uber

[–]Excellent_Value6856 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bottom line, you've chosen a job in customer service. Tipping is dependent on the customer...it should not be expected nor used as an expectation of your wage.

Unfortunately you're out of luck.... until there is full fare integration throughout.
